Interesting article. "Elon Musk has tripled his wealth during the pandemic, joining a list of 12 Americans collectively worth more than $1 trillion - Business Insider". I don't suppose there's any chance these “12 Americans” will redistribute their wealth and help Americans who have been hard hit by this pandemic to get back on their feet.
You know when the cathedral of Notre Dame caught fire, people were coming out of the wazoo with all kinds of money, willing to donate to the reconstruction of this historic building. Some of them were American. But this pandemic has hit many Americans extremely hard, and all I see are reports about Americans, who don't really have substantial wealth, stepping up and finding ways to help fellow Americans who are suffering and in need of assistance.
Don't suppose Elon Musk and the other 11 could step up? They should. Wish they would. Of course, they could say … that's the government's job. I mean … it's not like these poor Americans are in Lebanon where the government resigned!
Just thinkin'. Just sayin'.

I agree. People are getting evicted and getting their possessions repossessed. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Wealth redistribution is a good idea but those in power wouldn't let it happen.

Even when "those in power" get the power, they never do it, even though they promised they would. What they do is make everybody equally poor while they enjoy all the wealth.

Here in our state, at least some wealthy people are helping those financially hit by this pandemic, as much as they can. A famous film actor risked his own finances to help help those who lost their jobs in the film industry due to the recent lock-down.

I agree with you! Excellent points.
It's amazing how quick Americans are to help others in foreign countries whenever they have a problem. We are a very generous nation. It's a shame that no one comes to our aid, especially those billionaires living amongst us. Very frustrating. Hubs and I do our part to help, but it's only a drop in the bucket.

They do not distribute wealth, they do something classy called philanthrophy.
