Thanks to the actions of two YMCA camp counselors who were at the right place at the right time in Grisham Oregon, the action of one of the counselors who risked her life to rescue a 14 year old girl who was riding on a tube when she fell into the water. The girl was unconscious after she fell into the water wearing her life jacket. Since she had her foot in a water drain, she could not get back to the surface. One of the counselors jumped into the water and she managed to get the girl out of the water and get her to shore before the Water Rescue team of the Grisham Fire Department arrived to take her to a local hospital where she is going to recover from her near brush with death. The fire department spokesman Lieutenant Ryan Miller praised the two camp counselors for giving the girl CPR after she was on the shore until the firefighters arrived. The camp counselors are being praised by the fire department for obeying the rules of safety for the children who attend the camp by wearing life jackets when any one of the campers are near any body of water.

Drains in a water feature can be very dangerous if a person gets trapped in one.

You are right since I did one incident where a character in the "Final Destination" movies drowned when his bottom was stuck in a drain.
