Lost and Found!!

My car was running on fumes yesterday. I usually try to fill the tank when I get to that quarter full mark or just under it. Did some shopping and I noticed that the needle was just under the quarter full mark so I pulled into a gas station. I unlocked the tank, put the keys in my right pocket, inserted my debit card to pay for my purchase, put the card in my right pocket, pumped the gas, replaced the gas cap and walked to the driver's side of my car. Took the keys out of my pocket and got back in the car, and drove home. When I got home, Little Miss and I put our groceries away. She then went on to play in her room. I decided to sew a few masks. Shut off the machine at 4:30 so I could start our dinner. Checked my messages on my phone and noticed one from someone I didn't know. The message stated that she had found my debit card at the local Stewart's store at the pump. She gave it to the store manager and told her she would message me. I didn't even realize that the card was missing. Was ever so grateful that this woman returned my card. So often you don't get as lucky. Good things do happen!!

Wow, that is great that someone was honest enough to turn the card in, and then contact you. But how did they get your phone number to call you?

@moffittjc good thing I check the "other" folder for messages too. I am not connected with her on Facebook and the message didn't go into my regular messages.

I really need to put it in a safer place next time. I thought to give it to Little Miss, but I didn't want her to handle it after using it at the pump.

This wasn't the first time I had dropped my debit card at the gas pump. Happened many years ago as well. My card was returned safe that time as well.

@Hannihar the first time I lost it was many years ago. The clerk at the store knew me and sent me a message. This time I did not know the person that found it. She gave it to the store manager and then sent me a message on Facebook Messenger.

@ElusiveButterfly Do they know you? Is that why when you forget it there they return it to you?

That's amazing that you got a message saying they had your card. You don't see things happen like that anymore.

It was nice to not have to report it as stolen and had charges on the card that I didn't make. Grateful to this woman or doing the right thing.

There have been many posts on Facebook lately of people having wallets, purses and debit cards returned to the rightful owner. Really made my day to know that there are honest people out there.
