Two Shelves

United States

That is how much space the books I am keeping take up. If I'm being technical, it's around one and a half shelves. The picture is of all the books I will be getting rid of. I won't be able to take them all in one trip because of the stores limit, but I should be able to take atleast half of them now. The first row has around twelve books per stack. The second row (back / left of picture) has around fifteen books per stack. The only books on the shelf are ones that I have read and enjoyed. There is maybe one or two that I haven't read but kept. I now have three shelves empty and ready for whatever (yarn) I (yarn) want to (yarn) put on it (yarn). I'll probably put yarn on it, though. I have the books the way I want them (mostly), but I still need to organize the other shelves.

Wow! You have read The Thorn Birds. That´s great. I love the story of that book.

Actually, I haven't. I bought it to read it, but I am not going to read it. Most of the books in that pile I have either not read, or read part of and didn't like. I'll take a photo of my shelf once I have it organized the way I want it to be.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Oh! You have to read it. It is an awesome story about a priest and a woman. I love it.

@thelme55 I might get it digitally then, but I am going to get rid of my physical copy.

Thank You. A friend of mine showed how she cleared out her bookshelf, and it inspired me to just get rid of the majority of my books for once and for all. That is quite a lot of books thinned out now.

@LindaOHio I get that way too, sometimes I'll go months without reading. Usually those months are spent in front of the tv.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have a full bookcase of books to read; but I haven't felt like reading for quite some time. I should thin them out.

I wish I loved near you so I could take some of those off your hands. Hope you get good credit at the store you frequent.

They do give good credit, but I liked to do the cash / credit split. Especially since I don't plan to buy a bunch of books again. Going to keep my physical copy of books low. There's lots of authors I've never heard of in the stacks on the floor.

Yes, I think so. Lots of good books in that stack.

That's a lot of books to carry. Unless you drive and have a car it would take many trips to bring them all in.

Someone is taking me. They only take two totes worth. I've packed two bags full. I'm thinking the two bags will equal one, maybe one and a half of their totes. I'll see when I go tomorrow and then adjust how many I take per time from there.

@lovebuglena There is a two tote limit for same day processing. actually, I think the limit was four but they put it down to two for the time being. I could load these all up and let the process it over a day or two, but I'd rather do it this way.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Good that you have a ride. It would be very uncomfortable hauling all that on your own, even if you had a cart. So they put the books into their totes and if some don't fit they don't take them?

You can start your own book store, whereby you will be reselling the books. That way, you will dispose them and earn some money at the same time.

There is a store not too far from me where I got most of these books. They allow me to sell them back to them.

I do, but I am only keeping a physical copy of the books that I love. The stacks of books here are ones I am selling.

@Nevena83 Yes, and if they don't take all of them then I will give the remainder to goodwill.
