"I don't know" is the common...

...phrase that I am hearing from my students lately. The effort of translating the words or sentences into their native language makes me feel bored when still saying 'I don't know' by them. Even if this is what I am often hearing, I am still hopeful that they will help themselves to learn the English language. What common words or phrases that you are hearing at your place lately? It is good to use why what and how. At least, your daughter is curious. Some of my students are so passive.

You described it well. I am tired of repeating words or sentences with zero level kids. The worst part when they are playing while studying at the same time.

@LadyDuck I agree. I hope things will be fine soon. I suddenly remembered a documentary movie that I watched about mad cows. There is no cure when it happened.

@Shavkat Do they have homework to do so they can practice their English? I cannot think of any words right now that they say here lately.

I doubt if they will do the homework. They have other homework to do. So it will be not feasible to give them homework from me.

I just go with the flow, I cannot force them if they are really not into learning the language. I felt bad for their parents who are paying the classes online for them.

The answer I don't know is the answer that was issued because I didn't want to and I was lazy to find what was asked .... very annoying in my opinion

At some point, it is really annoying to hear this phrase. There is no effort. I feel irritated when they will say, "No, why."

I hope you don't answer and give them the translation when they can find it themselves. If you do, they'll remain lazy forever.

I only translate the questions for them. I don't talk that much because it one of the aims. Some can send their answers in their native language through the chatbox. Then, I will translate their answers.
