One of the books placed on hold is in transit to my library

I placed three books on hold at the library. My place in line for each book is 1. Being the first in line means I should've already gotten the books since I placed them on hold many weeks ago. That is not the case. I've been waiting for them for a while.
I just logged into my account and I see that one of the books (Four reincarnations : poems by Max Ritvo) is finally in transit to my library. It should be ready for pick-up soon. It's about time.
There are other books (novels) I want to place on hold. I was gonna wait till I read the three that are already placed on hold before doing that but perhaps it is better to place them on hold now since it can take a while to get the books

I don't understand why libraries are not open yet, when literally every other business and government agency in the country are back open, with the exception of restaurants and bars in some communities. Our libraries are still closed, but literally everything else in the city is open, including restaurants.

@lovebuglena Our libraries are drive-thru only. You reserve books online, they email you when they are ready for pickup, and you drive up to a designated area in the parking lot and the staff comes out and hands you the books you reserved. I guess they're not letting anyone inside at all except for a few staff members.

@moffittjc I wonder why people are not allowed inside for pick-ups.

That makes no sense. We can only do grab-and-go still at this time. The books are already checked out for us and are on the holds shelf. You walk in through the main entrance, grab your books from the shelf, and walk out of the emergency exit doors. Cannot go out the way you came in, even if you are the only patron in the library at that time.
And there is a guard at the front entrance to tell where to go. And there are markings on the floor to tell you where to go and to keep your distance from others.

I think that's the way to go. I wonder why it takes long if I am the first in line when I place the hold...
