Good afternoon to you all. It was another night last night that I stayed up to make sure I was knowing what was going on in the city here. If you read either of my post from the middle of my night you know that things around here were much better than the night before. I didn't mention in there that that night was the first time in my life that I called 911 twice in one day, I will get to that in a minute. Last night was mostly peaceful and that is not just another fake news story. Yes, there were a few attempted break ins but for the most part it really was just a march around the city. It started off about 8 pm and I was a little worried cause there was an attempted break in at a jewelry store that I can see the back of it from my place. I heard on the police scanner that an alarm was going off at that address and I knew right away that it was that place. I looked out the window and could see a small silver or white car in the back and two figures moving around. I called 911 told them what I seen. I let them know where the car was and if they came in from both sides of the strip mall they would box them in. Sure enough with in 4 minutes there were cop cars all over the place and they caught them. A few hours later about just before midnight there was a call on the scanner for EMT/Police to our apartment complex for a man having trouble breathing. They said on the scanner to come from the north. However living here I know that the road is closed to the north due to construction. I called 911 let them know that I live here and the road is closed to the north and they MUST come from the south. Immediately on the scanner I hear "Unrelated resident informed road close to north MUST come from the south" They arrived in less than 5 minutes. Other than that it was quiet in my neighborhood. It was so quite and nothing happening that the live streams I was watching went off by 2 am. At 3 am, the call came on the scanner that National Guard units 1 and 2 could "stand down and head out" which I took to mean they were being sent home. That was quickly followed by at least 3 police officers saying good night and signing odd duty. That was a big change from the night before when I didn't hear anyone signing off before 5 am. Hopefully, things stay this way and it doesn't get crazy again here anytime soon. So me and mine made it through another night safely and no property damage here. I wish I could say that for the rest of the city. I feel for those that were not so lucky.

Just doing what all people should be doing, doing their part to keep their neighborhoods safe even if it is the small things. Just do your part, whatever it can be.

That was really nice of you to make both of those 911 calls. In the second one, you could have saved a life by your quick thinking on the fastest way for medical personnel to get into the complex.

@Bensen32 When it comes to medical emergencies, it’s no longer minutes that count. It’s seconds that count.

@moffittjc True and I'm not sure what was going on but I thought if I can save them minutes to go around it might help this person.

Hopefully the guy was okay. yeah, if they would have come the wrong way it would take a couple extra minutes to turn around and get to the south. when minutes count who knows.
