Earthquakes in my country.

I had turned off my laptop and was reading last night when the glass bells that hang from the ceiling of my bedroom started to sound.
Those, my friends, are the bells that sound when there is an earthquake nearby.
I got up, put on my flip flops (plastic just in case I had to run out), and went turn off the alarm.
I went back to bed but turned on the laptop and went to the Chilean news. There had been a big earthquake in the north of my country. And some minutes later, a bigger sound from the bells announced that there had been another one.
Up to now we have had over 20 quakes, 7.0 Richter in the north.
I hope our planet calms down. There are places where houses are not as well built as mine.

@LadyDuck Not of this one, at least. As of today, the aftershocks have been over 90.

I felt a tiny quake but it was because it was very far. This one is a big one in the north and there have been over 90 aftershocks. And there has been some damage too.

@DianneN They are scary, even when they are mild because you don´t know what will happen next.

@marguicha Those aftershocks can be scary, too! I've only been in two. A mild one in San Francisco and a 6.2 in Puerto Rico. That was scary!

@akalinus Really they are very thin cuttings from semiprecious stones that I bought in Brazil.

@marguicha That is the bad thing, you never know whether the next one will be a year from now or 10 minutes from now. The glass bells are a really good idea.

7.0 is very destructive. Hope there is little or no casualty.

@marguicha Certainly, no casualty is a welcome consolation. Homes and structures can be rebuilt; life can't. Stay safe.
