I have some extra bread crumbs which i don't really know what to do with. I used some to coat the bread i rolled with a hotdog and cheese inside and i wanted to try something else. Any suggestions?

That sounds good. I use breadcrumbs in meatloaf and meatballs. I also use them to coat onions, vegetable, fish, and shrimp to fry or make tempura. They also make a good crunch on top of macaroni and cheese.

hmm I've never tried to use it on veggies. Do you still need to season the breadcrumbs?

@lady1993 Dip in flour, beaten egg, then breadcrumbs. I usually season the four or use seasoned breadcrumbs.

I use breadcrumbs mainly for coating meat and fish before frying or baking (coat the pieces in flour, beaten egg and then seasoned breadcrumbs) and for topping things like macaroni cheese (breadcrumbs mixed with grated parmesan) and cottage pie (on top of the potato). They are also needed when making meatballs or kebabs or sausages when they help to lighten the mix, absorb moisture and make the mix more coherent. Some people also make dumplings from them to go with soup or a meat stew.
