The postal service is sending me delivery notifications for a package I've already received

Friday I received a package that I should have received a few days prior. I signed up for text notifications on Tuesday, and I am still getting notifications for this package. Apparently their system hasn't registered that it has been delivered. I'm just thankful it wasn't lost in transport. The tracking system for the United States Postal Service has been wonky for years, so it's not just the most recent changes that have caused me frustrations. I like knowing where my package is at any given time, don't you?

I am the same way I like to know where my packages are also. Amazon sometimes don’t update theirs either right away.

@Tina30219 I used to love the place too, but I can find things cheaper on ebay sometimes, or at walmart.

That happens with me too but rarely and mostly the next day the product is delivered

We don't get next day delivery unless we pay extra for it. Most people won't do that, myself included

@Butterfingers I just received a text message this morning for the same package. I am glad that I actually received it, because it seems like they think they've lost it.

Yes, I like to track it especially if it is late. Friend got a chair like I did delivered from Amazon, and it was two weeks ahead of time!!. Just thinking they need an emoticon on Mylot with the Home Alone Face.

That would definitely come in handy! Of course I think the emoticons need a good update here on mylot. Wow! two weeks ahead of time? A friend of mine just ordered pasta from amazon and it arrived like three weeks later!

me too. I always over track my packages. For my neck gaiters and calendars that I bought on Amazon, I would use a international tracking website. A few weeks go, it had sent me a package notification about a package was already delivered which had it about a week before. I deleted the package on that site so I wouldn't get anymore updates.

I just use USPS, I haven't thought about trying to use something like DHL to track. I got another text this morning about it. Doesn't give me much confidence in the postal service.

No? I like doing it, especially if it's something I've been looking forward to purchasing.

Yes. I always want to make sure that I get it off the porch ASAP before it's stolen!

We don't have to worry about that here, though I am quick to grab it off the porch nonetheless. Especially around the holidays!

@LindaOHio It is always better to be safe than it is to be sorry.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I can understand knowing where your package is. That is weird that they are still giving you notifications when you already got the package. usually I get them when did not get or pick up the package. I will not be sending things registered but regular so will get a slip but not be able to check where they are. When I did send packages where I could check they did not arrive and who I had to talk to here to find out anything was of no help whatsoever so I just sent them registered regular now.

It doesn't make sense to pay extra if your tracking doesn't work. Here tracking comes standard for most everything as long as it's not in a basic envelope. I got another message this morning about it. It doesn't give me confidence in the postal service.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have not have had faith in the postal system here for a very long time. Also, post office boxes are terrible too.

@Hannihar Luckily I've not lived in a place with those tiny boxes in awhile. One of the places I lived with my parents had those silver boxes at the top of the community and that's where we retrieved our mail. Stupid kids used to pee in them.
