Pandemic Havoc

These days it seems I hear more about bad stuff than good. Some of you might remember that my friend's husband Nick agreed to let a friend of his pitch a tent in the garden. This friend got caught between apartment hunting and COVID. So he had nowhere to go and he had a cat named Cheese. So once he set up his tent under the stairs in the garden I agreed to have Cheese stay in my apartment. At this time the guy didn't want Cheese to be roaming outside. However, after a while when the guy came to see him the cat he enjoyed sitting outside on my porch. Cheese ventuired as far as the doorstep and lay there to be near his Daddy. One day the cat just felt too cooped up and I could not get him to mind so his Daddy took him downstairs into the tent. The cat got used to venturing out at night and coming home in the wee hours of the morning. Eventually when it rained he came back into my apartment. Some of you might remember how that ll ended. One day Cheese was chassing something and got hit by a car. I don't know f I believe cat's are also ruled by fate but it would seem so. There are three outside cats left here and even though they roam about they do not get into accidents. Anyway, the guy took it very hard and started to become despondent. He also lost his job as a dry waller at contrucktion sites and with no more cat he seemed to have no purpose in his life. Eventually he took his personal belongings and left the tent behind and took off. My friend Nick said he had found a girlfriend who would put him up in her apartment. Yesterday Nick's son David told me he had seen the guy conversing with some bums and apparently was living on the street. It made me sad and made me think - Was it not better to stay in a friend's garden in a tent than leave and wind up on the streets? I have no answers and it is not my business but it does make me wonder what really happened and I guess he can be put down as one of the victims of the pandemic.

There are a lot of problems that have to do with the virus. People lose their jobs, others get psychotic with lockdown.

That is a sad story. I guess there will be a lot of similar stories before the pandemic is finally over.
