While my wife and I were in Poland in the cold wintertime a few years ago, we visited the birth house of Chopin, an hour or so southwest of Warsaw. I made the picture above on this visit. At the time of his birth, the house had a dirt floor and a thatched roof, quite different from the present. The house now has been modernized with roof, floors, and all elements of modern buildings. It is now a quite comfortable and lovely place to remember this great pianist.

It is a strictly a tourist place, including a place for concerts from time to time, apparently only in warm weather

Going to that house would be the chance of a lifetime. Such a cold photo but so magnificent in its starkness.

Now I can recall the song: "I Love Chopin," I think sang by Culture Club.
