Short Story: Negativeness, or fact stating. A Mullah Nasruddin tale

The Mullah's wife wanted to visit the Nezahat Gokyigit Botanic Garden, which was situated not far from Istanbul, in Turkey, but the Mullah told her that they were currently closed, due to a bat colony, that had moved in there, and so it was dangerous for people to be walking around in there, as they could catch a disease off of them.
He had checked his information on the Internet, and he even rang them up on his mobile to verify the closed state of these gardens, but his wife, Fatima, would not believe him.
She so wanted to go, that she told him that he was just a killjoy, that he was always so negative, and destroying her planned outings for them, and for her father-in-law.
"Of course it's open," she said.
"My sister, Hiriniura, just went there a couple of days ago, and she had a great time there too."
She insisted on going, even though the Mullah told her it would be a wasted journey.
So, they drove there in the Mullah's latest Jaguar car, which he had won by his guessing the number of jaguars still alive on the planet, as part of a conservationist competition.
He had said that the number was 15016, which was pretty close to the official estimate, much closer than anyone else's guess.
He was nearest to the mark.
The Mullah had an uncanny skill at guessing these types of numbers.
Here he had said that it was because he is in contact with the inner souls of these animals, and they give him the facts about their existence here on the planet.
It was his Shamanic guide, the power animal jaguar, that had actually given him the exact number of jaguars, still alive in the World.
The Mullah's power animal was in fact the Jaguar.
This animal symbolises that the person, with this animal as their power animal, has great inner power, and can readily access the inner planes of unknowing too.
They embrace the totality of it all. They see connections between events. Their understanding and depths of awareness are beyond the ken of most other people.
Power Animals are said to be the spiritual energy of the animal, that can come to someone with an affinity for that particular animal, and it will act as an inner guide for him then.
As well, as being the village healer, the Mullah had also studied Shamanism, and was well versed in this area of knowledge too.
He used to see jaguars in his meditations, frequently.
The Mullah loved them because of their spots that resemble roses, in their shape, (these spots are called rosettes), a flower which he also loves.
The Mullah's prize-winning roses, in his rose garden, are a feature of his village, the best by far, in his village.
So, they drove there, and the Mullah thought that even if they were closed, as he knew that they were, there was still a nice walking track nearby, through another bushy surrounding area anyway.
Sure enough, the gates were closed, and a large temporarily closed sign was hanging off of them.
Disappointed, the Mullah's wife said to the Mullah,
"You should have known that they would be closed."
"Don't you keep an active ear to the ground in your council meetings, or do you still fall asleep in those meetings? You have spoilt another planned outing of ours, you spoilsport, you."
The wife was so disappointed and annoyed with her husband, that she would give no consideration to the Mullah's alternative suggestion, to walk along a bushy track, near a nearby river either.
She just wanted to go home. She just wanted to feel good by being right about the Mullah, being an idiot again, and she got great pleasure from him being wrong, in her eyes, and in her being able to get angry with him for that.
Getting angry always satisfied her, and made her feel powerful, and good.
Otherwise, she had no real power compared to the considerable inner powers, and spiritual knowledge of her esteemed husband.
She was in fact jealous of him.
Was the Mullah being negative, or was he just stating the facts?
Some people will not believe the facts, even if you tell them so.
They accuse you of being negative minded instead, and then they blame you for any negative results that result from their over-the-top display of wanton positivity, which is really more just a delusional stance of their own.

The Mullah's new jaguar car was a real doozy.

Sometimes we have to hand over responsibilities to other people

Yes, sometimes for peace of mind, we must do that, and then allow them to make their own mistakes.

@piyushbhatia1 Perhaps, he will next time.
He should have just kept silent, and let the scene play itself out.
At least, the Mullah is smart enough to learn from his mistakes, and to do something better, and differently next time.

Thanks, Scott.
Yes, always, (referring to your, "things are always different, where it's a spouse").
And sometimes for a man, it is very hard to understand the ways of his own wife.
The Mullah disturbed his wife, when she was staring blankly into space, looking out of their kitchen window.
He was afraid that she had caught this habit from her father-in-law, who was doing this more and more frequently now too. But he was old, and so this might be expected of him, at that age.
"What were you thinking?",
he somewhat carelessly asked her.
The wife was very upset with the Mullah though, for his doing this to her.
She said, angrily, sharply, sounding very annoyed indeed to him then:
"You snapped me out of nothing. I enjoy my moments of nothing."
"I never disturb you when you are meditating."
"Why did you disturb me, you thoughtless person, you?"
When I have a moment of no thoughts, and I think of nothing, for a moment. I relish that, and I try to stay with that nothing, for a while longer. You ruined it here for me again."
The Mullah realised again that he had put his foot right into her mouth, once more again, and no wonder she had spat it right straight back out at him, again, too.

I salute the Mullah's considerable patience and tolerance.
He was right all through, took the trouble to go against his convictions, still got blamed in the end.
Then he got overruled despite suggesting a way out to make the journey worth the while.
Well, that is what men are here to act as cannon fodders to their wives! They find no way to win an argument and even highly regarded lawyers bite the dust in front of their women! siva

It seems like to me that you are feeling sorry for the poor Mullah, that can never win at any time with his wife, but he knows that marriage is not a game to win, but one to play his rules with, and to let her have her rules too.
This is why marriage never works, as each side wants to play by their own rules.
The Mullah plays by his rules inside, and allows her to play by her rules both inside and outside. He knows that he is the winner, for his being true to himself inside, no matter what the result seems to be outside, by him letting her win outside.
You didn't mention his win of his car. At least he got something back for all of the pain the has endured...lol...

@innertalks I did not take the car factor seriously as the Mullah would be more comfortable with his camel and donkey.
The Mullah is right up there being able to cut across species and understand creation in totality.
But such unique powers cut no ice with his dear wife for whom the Mullah is just a husband; nothing more nothing less!
Good that there is still much common ground between them proving opposites attract and even sustain a relationship - siva

@Shiva49 Yes, the Mullah only bought/won the car to placate his wife, who had been pestering him for years and years, and years, about this.
His faithful donkey had served him faithfully, for all of his travelling around the town, for over thirty years now.
His wife had not wanted a sports Jaguar car though.
She had wanted a Mercedes, but beggers cannot be choosers, and what could she do, now that the Mullah had won this car for nothing!!
I like your astute observations about these stories too.

Yes, most men are very practical, and unemotional, when it comes to the facts, for, after all, a fact is always a fact, to a man.
Women even get emotional about facts!!

Yes, sometimes the facts seem to be negative, but the facts should be seen as being neutral, and then there would be no problems.
We need to accept facts, instead of glossing them over with positive paints, so that we no longer see the truth of the fact.
