The Mall Is Now Enjoyable.

When once I was always compelled to go malling, feeling I wanted to make a U-turn the moment I step into the threshold and leave, yesterday, I did find the mall, for the first time, a comfortable ground to while the time away.
My daughter sat me at a cafe, with coffee and some bread sticks, or freshly baked pretzels. She had to purchase mega plastic containers for her books, and some clothing, after discarding the old clothes, donating the Avenger shirts to 'segunda mana.'
The mall was generally quiet, with just the breeze of the air-conditioner for the bio plants for sale. A few old folks would walk around, buy a pot of orchids, or a bucket-size fortune plant or palmera for home decor.
There was no shrieking teen-ager, no squeaking shoes of children, no cyber zone noise - all for my peaceful enjoyment of a cup of real good caffeine.
That's how I prefer the mall.

@rakski Probably. I admit I have not gone far from my comfort zone. Yet, those I see outside are out there for a living - such as the vendors, the mangangalakal, the work force, etcetera. I have not seen people yet out for a gig - like the tambay, the manginginom, etcetera.
Here's hoping the pandemia does mark significant changes in our people and our society.

Our malls are so huge and were turned into events venues, from party reception areas to conference rooms. The malls are children's day care centers, pet grooming clinics, cyber zone, cafes, etc. Kiosks fill the atriums which include a variety of wares, from food to perfumes. Malls are dizzying.

@eileenleyva Even before the pandemic, some of our malls were slowly dying. I'm not sure why.

I did have a good relaxing afternoon at the mall, thank you.
Plus I did let my long pandemic hair down. Even if I probably looked like a silvery witch
because the strands are now even salt and pepper, I was my self and loved every minute of it.

Yes, the crowd could be overwhelming. I just like a quiet corner where I can relax and rest. I think the young people easily rattle me, even if I love watching them. Or perhaps it's the noise that unnerve me.
Are the malls there much like our own here?

Oh, you are a mall rat. Like many of my young friends. They reprimand me for being killjoy. So they stash me in a place and makes me guard their precious shopping bags. Sigh.
Are you prevented from going to the mall now?

@eileenleyva yeah every now and then it is good to go sightseeing in the mall. I am not currently visiting, waiting on the virus to end first. Haha

@jvicentevalera Yup, wait for the pandemia to end. Stay shelter in place. Graces come when one is in isolation. Hopefully, when the pandemia is over, you can show your friends how gracefully you have grown. Find the beauty in others, too. Am sure your friends would have also matured by then.
