Autumn breaths fire ~

like that'f a mystical dragons. 's the wildfires, man caused e'en though all're not arson related, continue to roar'n the Western States 'f the U.S.. The 'ftermaths 'f such'll be felt globally if'n anybody cares 'bout such e'ents. {steppin' off my high horse, a gear I tend to get schtuck'n} 's dawn crested her lovely light 'cross my lil sanctuary this morn, I jest couldn't pass'p gettin' a shot 'f these Bradford Pear leaves. To me, looks's though 'tis afire, but then perhaps I read too much 'nto these matters. I see 'signs' quite oft, that'd be what my Mamaw called 'em anyhow. Autumn 'tis here. Leaves 're startin' to change, many savagely ripped from the trees due to high winds 'f the past week 're so. They lie scattered 'bout haphazardly, like they've found their final restin' place.

That leaf does look fiery! Lots of fires going on here - we had some smokey days here. And it ain't over. And did you hear Siberia has their fires too . . . oh the world is just a heaping mess right now. Here, it has cooled down a bit, but it's not autumn weather for long as we go back in the 100s again next week. The leaves have been brown from frying under the sun . . . so we are tickled to see red/orange on our walks if we pass by trees like that.

@crazyhorseladycx I'm pretty sure those kinds of fires are illegal here too. Apparently our old neighbor used to burn stuff in his yard before we moved here . . . neighbors weren't too happy about it either. Nature is just going to win in the end. We keep doing things and she will fight back harder and stronger. True, there is a reason for fires (not the kind that "we" accidentally start). There is a museum here that has an exhibit on how the Native Americans did groom the land so well and controlled fires were necessary. Made tons of sense to me and too bad we don't practice those things right now. So I hear we'll be in the 100s all next week from Monday. It's pleasant in the 90s now and actually I'm fine with these low triple digits, but I fear I will have more plant shuffling to do in the next few days. I have to. I can't even say the trees are a "vibrant" green here. Perhaps some of the evergreens are, but our greens are rather dullish here. Up north there is that dark lush greenery . . . here the green is sort of sun washed. Perhaps in another month or so we will see more of the red/orange . . . but for now we kinda have to search for them. Love the reds .

@much2say should be, but folks'd do's they wish 'ntil slapped with hefty fines. then plead 'gnorance to such when 'fore the judge... how't rolls'n these parts anyhow. seriously, a long time farmer/rancher 'd nary a clue that weldin' a fence'n 45mph winds with no water source nearby 'twas a bad thingy?? tell that to the owners 'f the 23,520 acres, 9 diff'rent county firefightin' units, etc. who'd to battle the blaze... the ancestors knew how to tend the lands proper. didn't take more'n 'twas needed. i wish more folks'd got to that museum ('tis such 'nline?) 'n take these lessons to heart. i curse the farmers here who plant the same crops'n the same sections year 'fter year. wastin' water to get that winter wheat to sprout'n let't burn from drought. they get their 'welfare' checks though, courtesy'f subsidies paid by taxpayers so why not?? yepperz, ya might be doin' that ol' plant shuffle :) the shufflin' here 'tis nearly done, nighttime temps stuntin' growth 'f what i've left planted. e'en pulled the last 'f my ginger today - wind tattered 'n showin' weary. need to clean those tubers, get 'em sliced'n dehydrated to grind. get the rest divided (leaves/stems) fer addin' to cookin' water 's well's the immature tubers. could be the trees'n yer area've no need fer great vibrancy to 'bsorb the suns rays, eh? 're they native to the area? if'n ya wish awesome fall color, ya could plant ya a sprig 'f virginia creeper. i curse 'n battle such year round 's such'll take o'er yer universe quickly once 'stablished. does've some glorious colors come autumn though. took some pics earlier i'd share with ya, but've yet to get 'em off the camera.

sure grabbed my 'ttention quickly, lol. 'lways'n fire 'lert here. call me paranoid but the neighbors 're prone to burnin' schtuff (not so much now's they're fined heavily if'n they start a grass fire) 'n leavin' 't 'nattended. 'r, the flames're gone'n they leave such to smolder... mother earth 'tis mighty ticked, the past 10-15 years she's been tryin' to get her message 'cross to's humans with no luck. the lesson 'tis relatively simple. ya can't continue to kill that which brings ya life. oddly, not all fires're bad - some forests need such fer the 'next generation' to be born. 'tis 'nly with 'ntense fires the seeds open'n touch the earth. 100's, eh? i feel fer ya there, 'tis been a hot summer. we're to be 92 today i believe? will be'n that range fer a few more days 'fore the next cool front (better be cool'n not bitter cold like the last'un, lol) comes. that's to bring's back to the mid 70's range. bet that 'tis a joy to see those spots 'f color whilst out walkin' 'bout. 'lways makes me smile to see such here. 've some colorful leaves scattered 'bout currently, but when ya look 'nto the trees 'tis mostly still vibrant green.

Yes, the most beautiful season of the year is here along with cooler temps. Though this week, we've experienced Indian Summer. I saw the temps are going back to the 60s by the weekend. That leaf does look like it's on fire. I hope the wildfires are contained soon. We're getting the smoke from the fires here too.

'n bless yer heart, yer stuck'n the hospital fer such. keepin' fingers crossed that when yer moved yer gonna get a window where's ya can look out't such beautiful wonders. back to the 60's?? dang, we're 'pposed to be back'n the lower 90's, lol. 'nother cool front to come'n drop's back to the 70's. which's good, i've still quite a few maters, peppers 'n such that need to ripen'n the vines. sure caught my eye! thankfully the winds've calmed here 'n we're not gettin' so much smoke. a bit'f a haze early morn 'tis all. hope i didn't jest curse myself.

't times i wish i shared yer joy'n cooler temps. then realize i'd melt most 'f the year, lol.

That leaf certainly looks like it is on fire. I've been down burning leaves this morning and now I smell of smoke again. I'll have a shower shortly.

sure did! the sunlight'd caught't jest so. puttin' ya'n some workin' this morn, eh? best time fer such, then ya can shower'n 'njoy (hopefully) the rest 'f yer day. i really need to do that here, but know the city slickers'd most likely've me burnt out by the middle 'f next week. they're like the hubs. starts a fire, leaves said fire 'r doesn't make danged certain such's out 'n then acts dumbfounded when 3 days later flames 're shootin' high 'nto the sky 'n racin' 'cross drought burdened grasses 'n weeds. sigh...

@JudyEv one'd think they'd the desire to learn though, eh? i know when i came to these parts, i gathered e'ery lil tidbit 'f 'nfo i could from folks all 'round. totally diff'rent from my tennessee hills. been here near 40yr 'n still learn somethin' new 't e'ery 'pportunity. like a wildflower i'd been leavin' 'lone 'tis 'ctually very toxic! 'n my mind, the flowers jest a food source 'n since drought, very lil else blossomed. noperz, the whole danged thingy 'tis toxic 'n 3 mature berries can kill ya. 'tis called 'silverleaf nightshade', 'n the belladonna family. spent several months jest tryin' to tackle those.
