The Mullah's wife went off to her cleaning job early every morning, at around 6 am in the morning. She worked 6 days, a week, only having Sundays off. The Mullah always got up with her, and helped her to get ready for her day at work. He made her breakfast, toast, and a coffee, as that was all that she ever wanted. He also made sure that she took her water bottle with her, so that she could drink something during the day. The Mullah knew how important such hydration is to anyone, especially to someone performing a physically demanding job as his wife was doing here. Then, he would help her to saddle up their second donkey, "Honkey", and he would check the cart, to make sure that all of her brooms, and cleaning equipment were all still in there for her too. As she left, the Mullah's wife would smile affectionately at the Mullah, and say to him. "Go back to bed now, Nasruddin, and get some more beauty sleep, no doubt that you sorely need that, my dear hubby, you." The Mullah never did go back to bed though. Once up, he did not like to do this. When his wife asked him later, if he had done what she had told him to do, the Mullah always replied. "Yes, dear, I always do what you ask of me. I would be most afraid not to ever do so." Now, this was technically true, for he had gone back to the bed, but only to make it up again, for the coming day, not to sleep in it again. When is deceit, really deceit? Had the Mullah really deceived his wife then, here, after-all? The funny thing for the Mullah was though, that he worked from home, providing spiritual counselling to people in the village, who sorely needed such guidance in their lives, and there was a consequence to this deceiving of his wife about his sleeping habits. These would-be customers, who were usually also customers of his wife's cleaning business, would always ask him this very same question, perhaps because of what the wife had told them about the Mullah's supposed sleeping habits. Fatima, the Mullah's wife, supposed that the Mullah, not inclined to do much housework, or even yard work, because he was always too busy with his higher level works, or that's what they were called by himself, in his studying of various religious and spiritual materials, written by other spiritual giants, other than himself. The Mullah actually started his studying, coupled with his mediation too, the moment that she had gone out of his garage with her donkey. The question was asked at all times of the day, but it did particularity get up the Mullah's back, and his nose too, when they asked it also, at 11 am, in the morning, or even at 4 pm, in the afternoon, or whenever, whatever time, that they knocked upon his door. "Did I wake you up? Sorry, if I did so!" There can be a compromise even when it comes to telling the absolute truth perfect in all its import. I have stuck to telling the truth as once we tell only the truth we do not have to remember what we had told. Of course, I am diplomatic in the sense when the truth can hurt, I am careful in the way I say it. The Mullah's wife is kind and considerate and the Mullah wants to make sure he reciprocates her concern for his welfare. The Mullah's second donkey looks quite comfortable with its rug on - siva

Yes, the Mullah did not look so comfortable with himself wrapped up in it the other night though, but he did at least feel, the vibes, of his donkey in the rug. His wife, though, felt more than just the vibes. She experienced an assault on her nostrils, and so the second night, she had trouble sleeping too, at times, until she realised where the smell was coming from. To her great credit, she endured the smell, all night, and she did not force the Mullah to get up, and to put his own dressing gown on instead. (Perhaps, she didn't want the smell to go into the dressing gown also. In the morning though, she was busy, up early, changing and washing the new sheets, all over again, without again, saying another foul word to the Mullah, about this either. They had to be washed. They smelled like a donkey too.) The fact that the Mullah had done this, shows us his psychology too. He always expected this reaction from his wife, so he really did have a win over her, this time.

@innertalks It is said "a way to the man's heart is through his stomach". For the Mullah this could well be the way to get the message across to win his wife over. What matters is it is hunky-dory again in Mullah's household - the end justifies the means! siva
