I was sitting here listening to music to night and happened to find this video again and enjoyed it as much as I ever have. This song is awesome, and the guitar is awesome one it. I was laughing, although I don’t know if this was the way they planned to play it, but I like to think from watching what everyone is doing I don’t know that it was. I believe it is Allen Collins in the red who seems to be the lead guitar, just starts to go off on this jam. It is amazing and the crowd is loving it. Ronnie Van Zant tries a few times to get him to come back to the main part of the stage I assume to wrap up the song. Hey man, the dude is in the zone and jamming out, just let him be. He finally gets him to come back and says something to him. A few seconds latter you see Ronnie drag his finger across his throat as if they are finished. Almost 14 minutes for that song. I don’t know about you, but I could of went for another hour of listening to them jam out on that song. I guess that would not be considered a guitar solo but more of the band just jamming out and I tell you it is awesome. I could listen to that guitar all day.
... well just found that clip on a hard disk - not sure about the location and when it was recorded (@edit: Knebworth fair show in Hertfordshire England Augu...

I'm a huge Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. I grew up listening to them, being that they were from Jacksonville, just a short drive from where I live in Gainesville.

@Bensen32 I grew up listening to Skynyrd and Molly Hatchet, another band out of Jacksonville. And of course, Tom Petty, who was from Gainesville, where I live now.

@moffittjc Yep, listened to all of them too. I remember I think I was 9 or 10 years old, sitting outside a bar that was down the street from my cousins house and listening to the band playing inside. Not known world wide yet but they were known around the area. I had never heard of them and what an odd name, what kind of name is Cheap Trick?
