Cinnamon on My Mind...

Yes, this is about cinnamon, but have to tell you about the book that I told you about in my last post. I am now on chapter 3 of "The Girl on Legare Street"... and there are some new ghosts to get to know. One that I'm not looking forward to is a nasty one which I think the entire book circles around. Whenever I have a few minutes, I will be curled up in a chair to see what happens next. Never a dull moment in this series... always something scary around the corner. Now to the cinnamon part. This probably has a lot to do with my childhood. Dad this time has been in my thoughts a lot lately and he and I share the same love of anything sweet. Granddad too now that I think about it. Funny how genetics work. Anyway, while I was growing up, I don't think that we were every without cinnamon butter in our house. It was our weekend treat! Unfortunately either they changed the recipe of I lost my taste for sugar. Bought a tub and couldn't stand it. It ended up in the garbage. This morning I started thinking about it again and began wondering why I never tried making it myself!! And that is exactly what I did this morning. I used margarine instead of butter because I wanted the spread to be... "spreadable" , used quite a bit less brown sugar than was called for and twice as much cinnamon lol... This Cinnamon Butter is now my own creation and it tastes pretty darn good. Granted it was just a smear on my fingertip, but it was pretty awesome and no preservatives either!! So, I know what I will be having tomorrow morning for breakfast... what is on the menu for your Sunday morning breakfast??
