My mother-in-law bought my husband and his brother personal stuff like undergarments but the department store had limited stock like they only had this color of this thing or what. I picked the checkered cotton shorts as I liked the color. I had no plan to buy anything but I just liked the color.

Due to the pandemic most stores just keep whatever stocks they have and not doing reorders.

That seems to be a growing trend. Stores having limited stock (less than usual). At least you found something you like.
