The Murder of Roger Ackroyd:.... arguably the best detective novel

Twist and surprises. Shocking endings. If one talks about detective novels, such endings are there in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - Holmes stories as well as Agatha Christie- Poirot. Yet the novel : The murder of Roger Ackroyd stands much taller. The plot is similar to what we have seen in many Agatha Christie works. And there have been befuddling Holmes endings too. Yet this one goes beyond in a way, which the reader cannot comprehend. I will not spill the beans for those who have not read the novel. Arguably... it is the best detective novel I have read and stands up to its reviews. What do you say?

@arunima25 I went to watch "Murder on the Orient Express" directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh and also having Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp (Johnny Depp in a sort of negative role) in late 2017. I posted a discussion here as well. Almost Three years since then. Look so near and yet so far...... I have not watched other BBC series or movies. I did recall watching a few scenes of some BBC series but not the entire parts.
