Short Story: Laters versus early risers. Which type are you?

The Mullah Nasruddin had always been a morning person, an early riser, as he had a practice of getting up early every day to practice his meditation, and also take some exercise.
The Mullah practised a system of exercise, and self-defence moves, developed, and used, by the ancient Uygur Turks, called, "yapmatoren."
And the Mullah practised a meditation practice, which involved him performing both energetic, and relaxing, phases to it.
This was known as the "ohhoahha" dynamically active, meditation form.
Firstly, would come the energising segment, which involved twirling, and dancing, like the Dervishes do too.
This would raise his energy.
As a double whammy though, he would also chant out loudly the power words:
"HA HA CHA CHA KA",
as he twirled.
After twenty minutes of this, the second phase would begin.
Tired out completely, he would flop down into his outdoor chair, almost collapsing into it.
Then, he would chant the slower, calming part, which in its effect, was so relaxing, that it was energy draining, in a cleansing way.
He would then chant the words, quietly, within himself, making no outward noise, at all.
"SH SH EM EM ON"
This meditation always refreshed him, both inwardly, and outwardly, for the coming day, whatever it may bring him in its stead.
The Mullah's wife, though, was a night owl person.
She came to life, late at night.
The Mullah was often annoyed, because after a day of busyness, study, and writing, she would get him out into the garden, once when the heat of the day had passed, to cut the lawn, do some pruning, or to perform some maintenance task, around the house.
She hated the sun, so she always waited until it was early evening, and when the sun was starting to go down, and had lost some of its heat.
The Mullah was always tired by then, and he just really wanted to relax, and to take it easy, for the rest of the night, rather than to do any hard physical work, at this late hour of the day.
After all, by that time of the day, he had already been up since 4 am, in the morning.
Why are some people morning people, and others night people?
This is really going deeper than what you might think, and it is because of karma, and rhythms of consciousnesses, and connective alliance to the best way to resolve past karma, at your best activeness level for you.
Your rhythm, circaidically speaking, follows your beings level of best activity that suits your body type, mind, and personality, for this lifetime.
So, you are inbuilt right from when you are born, as to what preference you will have in life for either being a morning person, and early riser, or a night owl, a later.

Yes, I think that we all do have some preferences, but other factors, can also make a difference, like age, and enthusiasm for what we are doing.
When, I was younger, after a hard day's work, then dinner with my family, at home, I would then go out and train hard in the gym, from 9 pm to 10 pm every night.
I knew that this would not affect my getting up in the mornings, because I am a morning person.
I always wake up early, no matter what time I go to bed...lol...
Burning the candle at both ends, as they say.
Maybe, that's why I lack energy now; I used it all before...lol...

@DocAndersen I would see spiritual energy working differently than that.
Can we consume spiritual energy in a bad way, or can it only be used for good, and if we try to divert it for other uses, it then deserts us all together?
This, in-a-way, though, agrees with what you said.
Our spiritual energy is then, for all intents and purposes, not replenished then either.
Spiritual unconditional love can only be used for good, and any lesser energy is not love, but energy distanced from love, and turned against love, by the energy of our mind's wants and ego-self, which can get the energy in our heart, which remains love, and turn it into a lower form of animalistic energy, of power, and want, and greed.
Spiritual energy is the energy of love being used as love, and it is just another name for love's energy.
It is mind energy that can be diverted away from love, not spiritual energy, and all of these black practitioners/magicians are not using spiritual energy, but mind power alone, linked into other minds of other such practitioners too, as all under such a demon, give their mind power additionally for the leader to use the combined power altogether, of them all, in himself.

@innertalks i am in the same boat (always wake up early). Energy is interesting, i don't think we can use all of our physical energy. But we can consume our spiritual energy in non-replenishing ways.

Ha, ha. You like to sleep at any time.
I need to create a new category for you then, neither, an early riser, nor a later, maybe, a "non-waker"?

I am more of a night person after retirement. During my working years, I used to get up early or some nagging issues make me do so.
Then it depends on seasons too. During cold and rainy seasons, I tend to get up later.
I agree our body is an influencer too when we have a choice to set our sleeping and wake up time.
Early rising is healthier and one should welcome the sun as per some.
The Mullah is indeed fit as a fiddle and his habits are above par, worth emulating, though most are enslaved by their physical bodies, given to lazing around with their minds too switched off most of the time!

"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a person, healthy, wealth and wise."
was a saying that my Mum used to say to me, when I was younger.
But I was doing this long before she told me that one too.
My brother was a night owl, and we shared the same bedroom.
He would come to bed really late, and wake me up, by his throwing a pillow over onto my bed, and then, he would ask me, if I was asleep, or not yet.
He even wanted a pillow fight, at 12 pm at night, or later, when I had already been asleep, for more than 3 hours, or longer.
In the mornings, though, I got my revenge.
I would get up early around 5.30 am, do my exercises, then practice on my violin, for an hour, or so, in our bedroom, while he was trying to sleep.
He always woke up with the screeching sounds, as I was not that good, to begin with.
He would throw stuff at me as I played, trying to land an article of his clothing, taken off the night before, and still, on the floor, where he put it, before jumping into bed, and try to land it on the end of my bow, as it swung backwards and forwards, across the strings.
Yes, necessity to get up for work, and other factors, as well, do play their part too.

@Shiva49 I wasn't improving much on the violin with all of his interruptions, so my parents, finally allowed me to practice it in the lounge room instead, which was more in the centre of the house.
I remember my old grandmother used to sing my praises, when she stayed for an extended stay, living with my sister, in her room, at the other end of the house, where she could hear the violin, (once when I had moved into the loungeroom to practice) and she liked the Danny Boy, and the Blue Danube waltz music, that I used to play.
She told me that she thought that she was waking up in Heaven.
There were big differences of opinion here between her, and my brother, who said that he was waking up in hell.
Yes, shared memories do live on, in different ways, in different minds...lol...I am sure my brother still has different memories about this too.

@innertalks My younger brother is a doctor and he was an early bird too.
I used to admire his determination to wake up before 5 am while I used to only at 6 30.
We too shared a bedroom but he used to discreetly get up and leave me in peace!
These shared memories live in us all our lives.

I am more like Mullah. I am a morning person. My day starts at 5 and morning exercise and meditation are an integral part of my life.On weekends I start my day at 7.

Yes, I wonder what the split is here.
Your routine does sound a bit like the Mullah's here too.
Are there more morning people, that night people?
I wonder also, if this split has changed over time.
Was the caveman, for example, more likely to be a morning person, than a night owl, especially, seeing he/she had no artificial lighting, like we do now.
