A very special Sunday

This was the first time we've had church service inside our church building since the Covid virus hit. My husband preached a message "You must be born again" and I sang "Dear Younger Me" and "There is a Cross in your Way." I know I'm partial to my husband's messages, but that was the best one he's ever preached. We had about 15 people which is good for our small congregation considering the virus threat. Many of us wore masks (when not preaching or singing.) Afterwards eight of us went for lunch at a local buffet. That was the first time my husband and I had a dine in meal in eight months! Came home and just got up from an hour and a half nap which was heavenly. Hope I can sleep tonight! Hope y'all have enjoyed a blessed Lord's Day.

That is really wonderful that you were able to congregate inside of the church. We have not set foot into a church this calendar year because of the virus, we probably will not either. Most are either closed or have such limited seating that you cannot get in. With the winter coming I fear the recycled air. I always hated going to the cinema for that reason.

I understand. Our service was short, no touching, but distancing, masks, no congragational singing, and a shortened service hopefully helped. What would we do without digital means of hearing messages at home?

I'm sure it was exhilarating being back in church. I'm still watching our church service online but hopefully I'll get back there in person. I'm so grateful that we can still hear Gods word through technology. I can't imagine what it would have been like if we had been totally cut off when Covid hit.

That's great that you finally got to get back in your church building. The buffets still aren't open here.

We had Sunday school for the first time in 7 months. I'm normally nervous when teaching but today was more so because it had been a while. Our congregation is small as well. There were 5 of us in the ladies Sunday school class. I taught about the den of lions and Daniel, how we will find ourselves in situations like that. Daniel's prayers didn't keep him from the lions den but his prayers kept him from the lion's mouths. For the service, 16 of us. I would enjoy you husbands message. Have a wonderful night.

Thanks, I know I appreciate all his messages, but the Holy Spirit was evident. He's not a Pentecostal type speaker, but it was a powerful message.

I'm glad you had a lovely day. A buffet and a nap does sound like a heavenly follow-up to a church service. :-)
