Broussard's In Cape

If you ever happen to be in Cape Girardeau, MO, visiting Broussard's Cajun Cuisine on Main Street in the downtown area is definitely worth checking out. Granted, I am not into spicy. So normally anything with the word Cajun in it might normally turn me off. But after exploring the menu online a bit before actually going there, it seemed like a good place to try. And we were right. The food was delicious and not overly priced. The waitstaff was phenomenal. The atmosphere was very nice. Service was prompt, accurate, and good. We had their version of the blooming onion, and my only complaint was that it was hard to break off the pieces. But it was still delicious and not overly seasoned. We also ordered some fried crawfish and some fried gator tails. Both were phenomenal. We also had their loaded potatoes and those were equally delicious. I had the fried catfish and it too was phenomenal. I would say all around Broussard's was a great place to eat, and since we visit Cape often enough, this place will definitely make it back onto our list of places to eat the next time we are there.

Some of it is a bit spicy, but you can usually find a menu item that is not. All was very good.

Sounds like a great place to eat. I am cautious of Cajun as well as I'm not of fan of spicy food at all.

Luckily the food I got wasn't spicy at all. I don't like spicy either.

Fried gator tail, what does it taste like? We eat crocodile meat but it is mostly crocodile ribs with herbal soup.

Alligator does have its own taste. If I were to compare it to anything I'd say chicken, but oddly fishier. Sort of like if you crossed a fish with a chicken? It is hard to describe. But it is quite good.

Sounds great. Whenever I order Cajun, I ask for medium or light spice. They can usually accommodate you.
