Poetry: Be yourself, or be God in yourself, or not?

In the oneness of it all sits only God.
Who are we in him to be our own self?
Are we not also God in his oneness,
or are we only ourselves, in his way?
We must be our self, in nobody else,
and yet we are everyone, all together.
Where lies the real answer between,
being all me, or allowing me to be you?
Can I be myself, without ever trying?
Can I be myself, if not left all alone?
Being yourself to yourself & others,
is not being all separately not you.
It's not about who you think you are.
It's more about who you are yet not.
When you think that you are not you,
you think you are, who you are not.
Put your hands both in God's hands,
to be all of you, all within God's you.
Always be the God that is within you,
by being the you, that is within God.
You are a part of me in you, in you.
I am a part of you too, in you in me.
We see in others only ever ourselves,
and yet we are our self alone in God.
Yet if I am not myself, who is me?
Be yourself, but do not be yourself.
Be all in all by being tall in your stall.
Being all of you, by being all of God.
Truly being ourselves is seeing all
as God, but with our very own eyes.
It's feeling God's love in our lives,
beating strongly from our own heart.

Who are you, not to ever be yourself?
A giraffe, so tall, your head is in the clouds, or above the clouds.
Do not rain down on yourself, with anything but love, to be all that God wants you to be, in his love.

I remember one meeting we have on management. I learned though our heads are in the clouds but our feet should be on the ground.

Yes, we need good balance to stand tall.
If we are top-heavy, in our heads, we will topple over, at some stage, in our lives.

@Nakitakona Yes, if everything is left balanced, or brought back to balance, all should work out ok then, and yet, at the extremes of balance, sometimes value is added too, as if we sit in balance, on the fence, all of our lives, we might never leave the port, to explore what lies beyond the balance too.
A ship is built at the port, in the dock, but to really be a ship, it must eventually leave that safety of the port, or balanced position too, at times, but without going overboard, and running itself into an iceberg....
Balance is needed, but we should still explore either sides of that balanced position too, at times.
Maybe a balanced position actually moves upwards with gained wisdom to a higher level of such balance too.

Man is created in the image and likeness of God. We see God in each other.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say too.
We should be able to see God, in ourselves, and others too, and if we cannot do this, we need to drop into our hearts, and be our real self for God, which gives us the inner eyes to better see him in all things too.

Yes God is within us all, if only we could remember this.

Yes, it is hard to both remember, and to believe in this too, with our minds alone, and that's why we need our hearts alongside of us too, so that we feel the truth of God, via his love for us there too.

Thanks for your encouraging comments.
Yes, I try and try to be myself too, but sometimes, I do step back, as I want to avoid making too many waves sometimes, or receiving some big waves back from others too, because of my stand.
I usually, just prefer peace, but then again, that is probably me being a part of my real self too.

wow as always so much to consider in your poem.
This one takes me to two places the concept of revelation (sharing ourselves) and the question of who am I.

Yes, would we be better off if we always openly shared ourselves, or not?
Would other people always be better off, or not, to if we always shared ourselves, as well?
Perhaps we can best share ourselves, if we first work out exactly who we are, but should we wait for that, though, as finding that out, might partly depend on our sharing of ourselves too?

Each is created differently but we have an underlying common interconnecting thread.
Some seem to read others' minds, maybe, due to certain gifts but after sharpening and homing them too.
Likewise, we should find our calling to enhance the process rather than destroying the edifice like we are thoughtlessly indulging in.
We have pointers from time to time and some tough love dished out like now for us to pause and ponder, reflect and ,maybe, repent even!
Others are taken, so we have to be ourselves but we are part of oneness of humanity with the uniqueness in each of us.
The awareness of our creator should be enhanced with gratefulness and gratitude as we may not get another chance to be of help and at the same time take in the sceneries that shows the creativity and love of our source.

The interconnecting thread leads us also to the source of the love itself, to God, as all threads fine their home in him too.
The enormity of creation allows for uniqueness to be itself, but at the same time the uniqueness can't be just itself, it must see itself in its connections to all else to realise God in itself too, as we can not realise God in our self alone.
God can only be seen in his oneness, not in our individuality, held onto as our self alone, which the devil tried to do too, and which tries to rival God's position, by usurping it for yourself.
Admit your part in God, and God will admit your part in him.

@Shiva49 It does depend though.
Sometimes, we might not need the ladder anymore...lol...
I have heard the story of a great general who used ladders to scale the walls of a huge impenetrable fortress, but when his troops were up the top of the ladders, on the top of the walls, he burnt the ladders, so that then they were left with only one way to go, down into the fight, on the other side of the walls.
That's a bit of a mean trick to play on his troops, though, and I hope God is not such a general to us...lol...

@innertalks Yes, we should not kick away the ladder that put is here being taken in by the beauty and the spread of nature.
By keeping our heart close to our source we then follow "god is in the detail". Then there is no "devil in the detail", everything unravels, is crystal clear.
