I just saw that. I never was much a fan of David Lee Roth, but I fully acknowledge and respect Eddie as one of the true innovators in rock and roll. (And JJ will tell you that he taught Eddie everything he knew.

) And I always thought he was infinitely cuter than David Lee.

It was a shock when I read this online yesterday that he had passed as I did not know that he was ill. He was very talented.

@CarolDM That is a hard cancer to beat. A close friend of ours had that type of cancer. before they did the surgery to remove it, they warned him that quite often they lose their voice. It really made him nervous because him and his wife own the only little market in the rural village that we used to live in. He was fortunate and his voice was not affected. But he had to undergo alot of chemotherapy followed by alot of radiation therapy. Its such a tough cancer.

@CarolDM Today I read that he was from Van Halen, I knew him but yesterday when I read your post I didn't recognize him. You are right, he was a legend.

Can't believe it - seriously way too young. I wasn't sure what all he had been doing in recent years but we know he's had substance abuse in the past.
