Lots of kids, of all ages, are acting out. They are on edge.
Everyone from preschool through fifth grade in our school.
I have heard there are some behaviors and tensions with the older kids too.
I do not know what all of that is about.
It is not a full moon. We do not have storm systems coming in.
Both of those factors usually seem to bother kids and cause acting out behaviors.
I am glad tomorrow is Friday. I know lots of others are as well.

I think some of them are having problems with all the new rules we have. That is true of at least one kiddo. There is a particular rule that he very much does not like.

Too many kids haven’t had the board of education applied to the seat of knowledge. There’s a meme on Facebook that says, “If you were spanked as a child you’re probably not out rioting.”

@Dena91 and @FourWalls I can think of some with that issue. Others will internalize anxiety and run a script of self hate to the point they hurt themselves. I had one live with me, not my child, and it took her until she was around twenty to get going in the right direction. I sometimes wonder if I was too harsh when she was little, but she loves and respects me and treats me like I am her grandma, even though I am not. Of course her mom had different rules for her than I did. My husband often remarked that that did not help. Kids need consistent rules and consequences.

i'd give those young'uns a bit 'f a break. they've been sequestered mostly'n their homes with their folks fer months. no tellin' what all 's happened there... many 'dults aint behavin' proper either, such's televised all o'er 'n sadly many young'uns 'xposed to such nonsense. could be a factor, too.

You are right. Many of them have home "situations". My "four hours in the morning" kid had a pretty darn good day today.

@crazyhorseladycx When you carry a little voice in your head that tells you your are stupid and no good and you might as well give up, it is hard to hear the people around you who think you are awesome.

Overall, they have been more restrained. That is why Wednesday and Thursday were so "off". Of course I work with kids that have autism and some of the others fall into that group or with other developmental disorders. Those problems break through and stress them and us.

As a group, especially the ones with intellectual disabilities do not really seem to understand. So they also do not understand some of the new rules and they are irritated by those rules.

May be taking longer to get back in the habit of school as they were out longer than normal.

That and they have come back to a whole lot more restrictions. Some also are in school for the first time. Others have been promoted from elementary to middle school.

I agree wih you on 2020 and all of us being uptight and cross. With my morning kiddo, even though sometimes he has meltdowns, we can already see a decrease in self injurious behavior, so that is good.

I wonder why and how all the kods can behave irrationally. It can be because they are tired of staying inside the house.

At school everyone gets to go out two or three times daily. However there are new rules about some of our outdoor time. That was the problem for one child and he does not have the ability to control his emotions.
