Why Western movies? You can improve your listening skills by watching films in general. A good idea is to switch on the the translation (If there is one. Not all films have subtitles). Then you can hear the words and see them at the same time.

@sophie09 Why are you so fixated on Westerns? Westerns aren't famous for an elaborate language. All films made in English speaking countries are in English.

@Norindh_ Hello welcome to mylotEnjoy your stay here there are alot of nice people here.You will also learn here too.To answer your question first thing you should do is to focus on the task. Stay in a quiet place and avoid distractions . No other extra noise so that you can hear what needs to be heard. You can also read english books or watch english shows to get you acquianted with the language. You can mimick its sounds and words too so that you can experience them.

There is a free site called duolingo, it is an American language-learning website and mobile app. Have a look, it is a useful site to improve your English skills.

@Norindh_ Find a program online to teach you English. Also watch movies with English subtitles and look at those.

You could watch children movies in english because it generally has very basic language. I used this trick for learning Japanese

You could watch videos / movies / shows in English to make you understand the language better , than just looking at courses
