Been a week ago, a lot has happened. Last Tuesday, I officially got furloughed. Although, I think it will soon be a permanent one with the way things are going at the company I work for. Wasn't really surprised, dodged the first one and barely lasted a month in this new assignment. I knew something was up when the manager was asking about my details. I received an email for the Zoom meeting with the manager and the Human Resources head. Anyway, long story short, I'm on 'floating status' but it is indefinite for how long. It could go for as long as six months but I'm not sitting on my butt for six months with no work.
So been looking at my options since Wednesday up to Friday but nothing has come up yet.
Which comes to this weeks, Monday Funday. Nothing different really. Errands in the morning included laundry and grocery shopping. Job hunting though was added to the list of fun things to do.
That will likely take up most of my week ahead.
Any plans for this week? How was everyone's Monday?

@hereandthere there should be but technically, we have not yet been retrenched by our company. If an employee resigns, the company will pay less. If the company initiates the retrenchment, then the company must give a separation pay. Of course, with the current situation, the company is obviously not keen on paying more to employees.
I have not yet resigned but I have set my self up for a couple of interviews for this week up to next week. When I get new work, then I will tender my official resignation.
Hopefully, there will be no more lay-offs but that is hard to tell.

Sorry to hear about your furlough status, but hang in there. Keep trying and you will find something soon. At least for the mean time you will be able to catch up with errands and other personal stuff.
What industry or what is the nature of your job, if you don't mind me asking?

I currently work in the BPO industry. I'm in financial services but I have relevant experience and qualifications in customer service, marketing, and sales.

@allen0187 I used to work in a BPO when I was still living in Manila. With this pandemic, a lot of industries are affected, with some having no indication of ever pulling through. But we can only hope and pray. Looks like you have very marketable skills, I am sure that given some time and a little bit more looking you will be able to find a new job.

I have some funds but I don't want to keep dipping into it. That is why it is important to get a job soon and get a salary coming in.

Been involve in the BPO industry doing all sorts of things in a wide range of different industries.
Just got off a Skype interview earlier. I have another one next Monday. These are for two different posts in different industries. Saw a couple more job posting that is more suited for my taste. Will submit my resume tomorrow as it is almost midnight here in Manila.
