SO why sugar...

Sugar for 20 minutes of false energy or sugar because of your diabetes? So for me, it does not help my teeth. Yes, there is a lot of sugar in almost everything in the store. Now yes when you eat sweets it takes more water to digest it, that's why it can constipate you if you don't drink WATER enough. I am still working on those things. But we are learning. This is what is important. To stay healthy.

I understand that. I am working on making it more nourishing when I make my own food.

Sugar is indeed a problem. I am very sweet, too. But diabetes is a condition we can control. Eat bananas instead of mangoes. Eat papayas when constipated. Drink water to wash away the sugar. And walk as much.

@beenice2 Grapes a bit expensive in my country. I opt for our local counterpart. Bananas a daily snack.

There is too much processed food in the grocery store. I use dates for some of my sweetener. I make a good tasting pumpkin pie from scratch, using dates for sweetening.

Prepared food, and convenience foods have traditionally been high in sugar and salt. Freshly made in your own kitchen is much healthier.

Indeed sugar isn't good for the body. Though sometimes I crave sugar, ignore my craving. I chose health instead.

@beenice2 that’s good to know you are working on your health. The only thing now I’m watching is the number on the weighing scale. I need to reach a certain health goal.

It is amazing how many things have sugar. Things that you wouldn't even think of having sugar have it hidden in them for "flavor". Once I started reading labels I was amazed at what is in our food. And also just how processed it is.

Yes. We don't need that much sugar.
