Netflix Not Giving Free Trials Any More

I started a 30-day trial in September for Netflix. There were two documentaries I wanted to see. And then I will drop it.
Have never cared for the re-runs I have seen on there. And the series were never interesting. I did find a good one called Ozark (Jason Bateman) and it is good so far.
Just read this article that Netflix will no longer offer the free trials any more. Got mine just in time.
I suppose many were taking advantage, not sure. Seems like a good way to get customers in my opinion. And since they have over 190 million customers, they would continue offering this trial. But they have decided to stop. It was good while it lasted.

I’ll miss that like I’ll miss these back spasms.
I tried Netflix once. Honestly, I canceled it less than an hour after I signed up for it. NOTHING I wanted to watch was on it!! I spent 45 minutes searching for movies or TV shows, and not a one of them was on Netflix. So I decided to cancel it and stick with buying the DVDs.

We sometimes watch Netflix, only for things that look really interesting.

I think I signed up in 1997 and left just as quickly as I signed up.
According to the credit bureau, Experian, "Netflix® payment history can now be added to your Experian credit report using Experian Boost™. So if you have a history paying your Netflix® bills on time, you could get a FICO® Score? increase in a matter of minutes."
So, as was expected, these cheapo little streaming companies are on their way to being just like the cable, satellite, and telecommunications companies that came before them.

That's how I got hooked on netflix...with a free trial. The fee was nominal so I kept it

Loved Ozark! So happy you were able to get the free trial. I'm surprised they will no longer be offering free trials. It's a great way to attract more customers.
We have Netflix and have had it since it first came out. As a gift, we treated our younger son to it. Hopefully, you can find other free trials out there.

I think it's not in their best interest to discontinue the free trials. I saw this on the news; and I thought it was a bad move.

@CarolDM I had a month-long free trial with Hulu just to watch Lost again....but I ended up subscribing to watch Lost (again!) and to see what Manifest was all about.

I never tried the 30-day trial for Netflix. I used it because a friend lent me their their password. Otherwise I guess I'd use it, well not anymore according to the article.
