Goodbye Myrtle Beach: Last Sunset

I have been quiet the last few weeks as we have been doing a little traveling. Three weeks ago we went to the Smokey Mountains, came home for a week and then we left for Myrtle Beach, SC. Last night was our last night there and I snapped the photo above as the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean.
We have a nice week and probably did a bit too much as we are both aching and sore now. It really hit me today with the drive back home. My back started hurting really bad after 3 to 4 hours. We decided last night to break the drive up going home like we did driving up and booked a room in GA which is about half way home. This will make the drive much more tolerable both days.
I hope everyone is having a greet week. We had good weather after we got rid of Delta which we caught up with on our drive down. Now we get to look forward to going home and picking up all the limbs!

@oahuwriter We did. I don't think we did as much relaxing as we should have done! We both came home tired. We slept in this morning and had a late brunch and coffee. Now to get laundry all done, change sheets on bed, clean out refrigerator and freezer since electricity was out for 2 days and 3 nights. Then we can start picking up limbs and burning them all. Lots of work!!

@1creekgirl We are staying at Sugar Mountain in NC. We have never been to that area so will have some exploring to do. I know there is a cavern south of that area and we are planning on that for sure. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!

@kareng We learned long ago that north Myrtle Beach is safer and like you said, more family friendly. Your photo is beautiful!
Are y'll planning to stay at one of the beaches at the NC coast?

I’ve been to Myrtle Beach several times when I was a child. I remember the water being really rough.

@Tampa_girl7 It's all commercialized and just wasn't up our alley. Hubby doesn't like sand so the beach was out. We walked on the beach the morning we left because I insisted!
I wouldn't want to stay in Myrtle Beach. Too crowded and it was off season when we were there. Sidewalks run over with people. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach and enjoyed that area much more. Now if you had kids and wanted to do the boardwalk, it probably would be a different story.

i've too much fear 'f the 'nknown to go gallivantin' 'cross the country, but glad y'all felt confident to do so. that'n here there'd be many restrictions (which most nobody follows, which's why our numbers continue to rise daily...), 'ncludin' havin' to quarantine fer 14 days if'n we cross a border. can't e'en hop o'er to texas 'n see the grandbabes. 'f course, then we're to self-quarantine 'gain 'pon our return to new mexico soil.
lovely sunset 'n hopefully not too much work when ya get home.

We don't have the state by state quarantine thankfully. I have to say facemasks were required and rules were followed at 99% of the places we went to. That was good to see. And social distancing practiced.
We were talking about cleaning up the yard just a few minutes ago with weekend plans. I think we decided to get the pellet heater in the den torn apart to see what is wrong with it since Friday night is a night in the 40's--the coldest so far. So that will be priority. Hoping that it is a minor fix. Don't want to have to take this one out and go buy a new one.

@crazyhorseladycx Something broke inside at the end of last winter. There was a loud pop so something inside broke. Just hope it wasn't anything serious.

@kareng there'd be signs comin'/goin' from new mexico to all states 'long major roads. 'tis not 'nforced, which's a shame coz folks continue to do's they please - no masks, no social distancin' 'n obviously not washin' their hands either. i say such coz we've now 'd o'er 1200 jest'n our lil county. that's jest those that've been tested. 8 deaths last i heard.
ya might check'n see where yer re-set switch'd be. if 'tis like ours, 'tis not where the pics/diagrams show. best 'f luck!

Well we have to plan on getting the yard picked up soon. Can't walk for all the limbs that Delta brought down. I started on the laundry earlier and that won't be too bad. I also have to gear up for cleaning the refrigerator and freezer out since electricity was out from Friday night to Monday morning.

@LindaOHio I worked out there for about 2.5 hours after lunch today just picking up sticks and hauling them to the burn pile. Still have a week to go. I didn't even finish up the field, let along around the house and the other side of the house to the road or to the road in the front.
