It Takes a Lot To Make Me Cry...

It also takes a lot to make me laugh out loud when I'm sitting quietly reading a book. The most recent was in Karen White Tradd Street series or was it the last one actually made me burst out laughing... enough to make hubby look up and ask what was so funny. He often does his paper work in the same room where I read, and laughing OUT LOUD isn't something that I tend to do. But this author has made me do both.  I have one more chapter to go in this particular book and two more before I catch up (long story here)   Anyway, the last chapter had me in tears, great big fat ones rolling down my cheeks... the scene was soooo sad.  Luckily I was sitting here all alone. Hubby was downstairs watching English football.  He didn't need to see me in such a state,  and the only reason I'm telling YOU is the fact that Karen White is such an amazing writer and I want you to know about her.   Put in a request at your library... you are going to love her stuff... She's the writer with the ghosts...  ;)

I don´t laugh easily either. The last movie that made me laugh was The life of Brian. As for books, Please don´t eat the daisies was maybe the only book that has made me laugh although I read a lot.

LOL... that is hubby's favorite movie also. He laughed even harder than me. Now "Please Don't Eat the Daisies" sounds familiar... going to have to put in a request for that one.

The timing has to be just right... and the fact that it comes as a surprise when you weren't expecting.

I easily laugh or cry depending on how good the writer is.

Sadly, I haven't found that many authors who can do that. I guess I need to read more ;)

What is the book that you are reading? My daughter is a writer and she laughs out of nowhere a lot so we are used to it here. She is 14 and has already written a couple 10 chapter books that we are holding onto until she is of legal age to get her published. She's actually really good and I would buy her books.
