This is one of the interesting topics in my day 2 of training, the PIPE of a person- the reason/s why people fight. So what is PIPE? P- preference I - Interest P- personal space - could it be physical, visual or emotional space E- Ego A simple argument tends to become a big fight once you hit any of those PIPE of one person. Understanding those things is important to have a sustainable relationship. Knowing the reasons why someone gets mad will easily help you to fix things between you.

Makes perfect sense to me. Is this why some will say "pipe down" I wonder.

I have also heard it said, "to put that in your pipe, and smoke it," when someone is trying to rebuff someone else in an argument.
