With all kinds of memories coming to mind I thought of high heels. Why high heels? Well, I don't even remember the last time I wore a pair and with my bum knee if I did now I would probably fall and never get up again.
I do remember my mom loved those stiletto heels that clacked as she walked. It was the style back in the sixties and I shudder now to think how she managed to go to work in them and even dance in them. Then I decided I better learn early to wear such shoes. So I stuck my little feet into her shoes and my little foot almost entirely fit into the toe of the shoe. Then I would clack around until mom caught me and took me out of the shoes so I would not ruin them.
When I started working in NYC I never wore anything less than high heels. When I think about how I walked everywhere with them and even on those dangerous subway stairs I wonder if I had not been born to wear them. But times change and lifestyles change and now I could not even imagine wearing a pair of high heels. I practically live in Crocs now.

I wore high heels all the time; and my boyfriend (now my husband) loved them. I'm sure that some of my foot problems today were caused by wearing those shoes. I don't know how women can wear the extremely high heels that are a fashion today. I wear flip flops all the time! :-)

I love heels, but can't walk very long in them. If I'm dressing up, I'll wear a little lower heel.
