As I peruse through the many new discussion on the mylot forum and read all the recent responses to some of my own posts, I hear each of your words!
Strange?
Yes, I am strange as I have always imagined and put a voice to people I have not met yet. Before it was my pen-pals, Christmas cards, or telegrams that would come with special greetings . . .
Now it's the comments of friends on the posts.
So while I am reading, this soft feminine New Zealand accent voice accompanies Vals words. So too does the Southern accent of Marie reach my ears as I read her words and a smart British accent when Gary Marsh shares all about his travels.
Do you associate certain accents and tones with the friend's posts that you read?

Oh yes and it brings great joy to the heart especially hearing your voice, full of zest for life and all the good you do! You are an inspiration to so many others!

@garymarsh6 Gary I imagine her voice the same as you do and I also imagine your voice full of zest for life, the voice of someone who loves life.

@LadyDuck It is bizarre how we conjure up our own view of someone. I hope you appreciate my thoughts about you. You remind me of the beautiful Sophia Loren when she was younger. I hope you don't take that as an insult but as a compliment! A lady with charm and class!

Thank you Gary, I take this as a compliment of course. I was listening now at an interview and I have to say that my voice is not very different from hers, mine a bit softer.

@Inlemay the most amazing thing is to actually hear a fellow Mylotters voice. I’ve spoken to a few and heard a few others on videos. They’ve never sounded the way I hear them in my mind as I’m reading.

@Tampa_girl7 ahhh shame, then I might not send you a voice note for fear I might not sound like me in your mind.

Yes, I totally agree. I can imagine the American members of My Lot talking. I will have to find out about Gary Marsh and all his travels. I went to Cape Town and the Garden Route in 2009. I know the South African accent and think it sounds cool.

I do speak the Queens English - but not with too much of a British tone, more a little Irish tone. I love thinking how everyone must sound, I think you are a little softer spoken like Juliette Bionche who stars in the movie Chocolat with Johnny Depp - that how I picture you

@inlemay Now that you mention it, yes! I hear everyone’s words as I read them. To help you imagine my mode of speaking, remember that most of my childhood was spent in Malawi, often in the company of Malawians, South Africans, Italians etc but few Irish people but that was a long time agoi baffle many of my countrymen when I speak.
