Giving a mobile number or Facebook account without the owner's permission

I simply have learned that giving someone's mobile number or Facebook account without the owner's permission is quite unethical. My tutor asked for my client's Facebook account so that she could chat her, say, she would be on the client's home or what. I told her, it was improper to give it to her without her permission. What is your thought on this?

I don't give phone numbers, email addresses, social media accounts etc to other people without asking the owner first. Someone gave my friend's phone number to a man who was interested in her without asking her first and he ended up stalking her. She was furious at the person who gave him her phone number without her permission, and I understand that, she would have said no if she had had the chance.

If you don't mind can you share me your Credit card number with CVV or debit card number with OTP/CVV I was once a stalker type.. but seems like I am over it now... So you surely not going to experience the stalking here Though sometimes your bank account might beeps on your phone to remind you how much debits you are in

true. This is very true. Some people are not decent enough to be entrusted with our personal info.

You are doing right not to give the number or the Fb account. I would be annoyed if someone is doing that with my number without my permission.

It depends upon the situation and type of number and account you are holding. If it is publicly available so you can ask them to check on internet to get the details. If it is personal and you had it that means he/she trust you with the same. We all know that once trust is broken you will lose the client

@Janet357 So you did right not sharing the personal details with anyone. That should be in your company policy as well.

You are absolutely correct! It is not correct to pass on the number unless you know that the other person is close to you and the other party.

i guess asking is fine on the part of the tutor you know maybe your tutor just have some concerns but ofcourse it will depends on how he or she asked and it will be unethical really if you wont be asking permission to the owner.. that happen to me before so what i do is ask first the owner of the facebook acct or mobile number owner if i can give if she allows it then theres's no problem but if she didn't I wouldnt and I will just explain it to the person asking for it..
