After so many weeks that have dragged, this week has flown. Got two good work outs in, homeschooled Jack two days, did 5 loads of laundry, and did a few writing assignments. We are leaving tomorrow to drive to Vermont to visit with my brother Fran and his wife. It’s been a few months since we have seen them. The orthopedic doctor has gotten approval for gel shots for my knees, that is the good news. The bad news is they are $300 per knee. I just got cortisone shots so I am going to wait til December but I am looking forward to getting relief, I order two new Laura Ashley quilts for two of my beds. It’s been a while since I have had new ones . I have been putting away the summer clothes and getting out the winter things too. I did make up a bag to donate of sheets I don’t want any more, some of them I’m not even sure where they came from. Last night we got pizza from a restaurant we haven’t been to since before we went to Florida. They don’t deliver so we picked up. We have enough to have it again tonight. That’s about it from sunny and unseasonably warm Connecticut.

What is wrong with your knees Isabelle? I only ask because I'm having trouble with mine - I think it's arthritis but I'm not on any treatment. The weather here is up and down - one minute a lovely autumn day, the next it's chucking it down.

I have no cartilage left so it is bone on bone. Not very comfortable. This will put a cushion between the bones

@jaboUK MY doctor told me it was safe to do now but I am not doing it. The cortisone shot really helps.

@BelleStarr I have that lack of cartilage in my hip, but the knee thing is relatively new. Can't get anything done about either of them in the current situation.

i dunno where the past 10 months've gone period. we aint 'llowed to cross state lines here without a 14 day quarantine 'n each side 'f the border. e'en travelin' city to city 'tis greatly frowned 'pon. too many non-compliant folks 'n whilst the state did quite well fer many months, we now lead the u.s. (last report i read anyhow) fer new cases per capita. sigh.. wowzers, don't reckon i've heard 'f gel shots fer ones knees? 's that kin to the stem cell schtuff? 't $300 a pop, should be a money-back guarantee, eh? hope yer happy with those new quilts. i couldn't e'en begin to tell ya how ol' my scthuff'd be. 'tis been warmer here'n the 'norm', but such's fixin' to make a big change. save travels!

No gel shots are made from rooster combs and have been around for 10 years or more. The gel replaces the missing cartilage. I wish it was guaranteed but if I get 6 mts of relief I think it will be well worth it!! Maybe we will Get another stimulus check lol that would help!!

@BelleStarr very interestin', thanks fer sharin' that info. the hubs knees 're awful, bein' bowlegged doesn't help. he doesn't wish to go 'nder the knife 'gain anytime soon. i hear ya'n the stimulus checks..that'll not be comin'. those politicians 've to put too much other schtuff 'nto the mix. tryin' to sneak'n schtuff that ought not be there.

It must be very hard and painful about your knee problem. I hope you find some relief and healing somehow. Safe travels to Fran and sister-in-law in Vermont. Have a lovely time!

My mother gets shots in her knees. I had no idea they were that expensive.

It depends what the shots they are are. They have a three shot gel one that is $160 for each knee but it means going three weeks in a row

I know what you mean about the week flying by. It feels like it's done that for me. I can hardly believe how much I've gotten done today, and it's not even four o'clock. By posting a bit earlier than usual, I'm hoping I'll make a bit more than usual today. Hoping to reach my 5 dollars this month, but not hoping too hard. I have 1.25 to go, and it's the 22 second.

I sure hope so, so far, I'm 5 cents closer. We'll see how today goes, given I've had rotten luck this month. Took me forever to get this far.@BelleStarr

Yikes, $300 a knee is really steep. I hope you can afford it really soon.

I hate cortisone @BelleStarr in my experience it simply makes a bad situation worse. I hope you'll get the results you want.

Thanks for the update. The days and weeks are flying by; and I can't believe that November is around the corner. We could get s**w soon. :-) Have a nice trip and drive safely! I've never had gel shots. The weather has been up and down. It can't make up its mind.
