Is this picture upside down? A photo from our hike the other day.

My buddy Rob and I took a hike around Lake Anza in Tilden Park the other day. Tilden is situated in the Berkeley Hills, adjacent to suburban (and wealthy) Orinda CA.
There was no wind, and we were struck by the calm of the water, We saw ducks, turtles, a Western fence lizard, and a mystery bird, but no fish in the clear water.
At a certain point we were struck by the reflection, in the still water, of the trees across the lake, so Rob snapped this photo.
If you look closely, you can see that the faux-circle (both faux-circles, and the triangle too) is actually a branch and its reflection. I'll post about the mystery bird later.
Have you taken some hikes or walks recently? I find it relaxing and soul-cleansing.

It is a strange photo. It looks like an arrow aimed at a ring. Unless it is a metaphor for something else.
I used to take my little kids to the swamp. They liked watching the cranes and herons fly away at our approach.. Then the frogs jumped into the swamp and there were some tadpoles and little fish in there. It was great.

You’re asking me to think? Or look at something with my new glasses????
Love walks in the Smokies, which I did last week.

No place nearby for such hikes for me.The water looks calm. At a closer look, the above picture also gives certain eerie feeling.
I would not be at such a place after dark.

Yes, there are places that provide a kind of calmness and relief to us. I read in news that some areas of California have been engulfed in fire again and many people have to evacuate to other places.
I hope that you are safe there.

@wolfgirl569 That's cold! Whose butt cheeks are in your icon/image/avatar/whatever it's called? Is that you?

I tend to hold my breath when I walk by strangers in the store. we encountered only about six other humans on our hike. We said hello at a distance and then I did the same (held my breath as we passed). I consider "out in nature" a fairly safe place to be.

No hiking for me. I'm lucky if I can get to where I'm going without falling over. I may have to start taking my cane everywhere I go pretty soon, or even dig out my mother's old walker.

@BarBaraPrz Heh. I propped one against my precarious fence around the cabin. If a cow scratches her butt on that fence, it's going down.

Well, I did walk to the mailbox everyday and I do spend some time faux chasing Ally around the yard, does that count? It's about 100' to the mailbox.
That's a really kool shot. I wish there were ponds around my area ..... well, at least we have plenty of beach.

That's a cool picture. No, I can't walk more than about 50 feet; so I can't go on a hike or walk.
