A Policeman got killed by a rooster!!

Usually it is us humans who kills chicken for food. A rooster just avenged his species by slashing the femoral artery of a cop! Cops where raiding an illegal cockfight derby and one of the roosters got startled and he slashed the poor cop. The rooster is a Texas breed, this chicken breed is not raised for meat and eggs because their meat is rubbery and their eggs are small. Texas breed is used for cockfights. Never underestimate roosters, they can be aggressive. That's why many farms kill them while they are chicks.
Police officer Lieutenant Christian Bolok was killed yesterday during a police raid on a cockfight in Northern Samar, the Philippines, after a rooster's blade sliced his femoral artery.

I don't know whether to laugh or not but I think it's funny but yet very sad. Chickens are VERY aggressive if they want to be, that's for sure.

@JimBo452020 I have a very twisted and dark sense of humor so I don't want to offend an audience. lol

@campost There is just a big irony with this news and the global political climate make people hate cops.

To be fair. Texas chickens are bred for their aggressions. so one killing a human is a possibility.

Yep - roosters can be aggressive . . . but this one was a bred to fight. That poor cop had his leg in the wrong place at the wrong time . . . yikes .

@CaptAlbertWhisker I wonder if it was too late anyway, but I don't know. I don't know if putting pressure on that area would have saved him - but he would have needed attention immediately. What a way to die!

With covid 19 going on it is hard to get medical attention when all doctors and nurses are in quarantine,

I know how nasty those birds can get, I use to raise, breed and train imported fighting roosters when I was in my 20s. I already gave it up including gambling a long time ago. I understand how people feel but it's a National pastime in our country and every city, town or municipality has at least one licensed cockpit arena in the Philippines, that's just how things are here. These people cannot control their urge to gamble so they do it illegally since pits are all closed due to the pandemic.

@CaptAlbertWhisker the Filipino gaff or " tare " is called a slasher, it's wide and very very sharp, it's designed to cut clean and fast, results are fast and exchange of money is fast. The American blade is round like an ice pick, I think it's more cruel because the " sultadas" last very long like a boxing match. The Americans are more particular with the stamina and gameness of their breed meaning the prized rooster won't run. Filipinos are more into fighting style and faster kill because the line is long for the next bouts , pits also make more money, more fights the greater percentage they get from the bets

Ok, there's something really wrong about some of what you posted. Roosters do NOT lay eggs, they are males not females. I do hope that the policeforce will redouble their efforts to bring people who arm those birds to justice, at the very least the people who armed those roosters with blades should be charged with manslaughter.

I didn't say roosters lay eggs, i said texas chickens are not bred for meats and eggs, They are bred to make fighting roosters. I said the killer is a rooster from the texas breed, a breed not use for eggs and chickens. I don't think the breed is from Texas, They just call this breed Texas for some reason.

Well this is something I never thought I'd see in the news. Plus as a Texan, I get why our roosters would be bred for fighting, why do you think we have the motto "Don't Mess With Texas," Lol. xD

@Hanyouyomi These chickens are called Texas but I dont think they are from Texas. They are known to be aggresive. They actually kill hens who refuse to mate with them.

@CaptAlbertWhisker As expected from illegal chicken fights. But you think the cops might've known that going in so as to avoid such fatalities.

That's terrible, we had someone in the neighborhood charging to see fights between the roosters. Someone turned them in, thank goodness.
