I just took a whole chicken out of the freezer.

I had to handle it with care. If it had fallen on my toes, they would have been smashed. I will put it to roast when it is thawed. I only add salt and pepper and lots of butter (not oil). After that I´ll eat it little by little. The lasy bit will be the brest. I´ll probably make a white sauce and eat it with pasta. Meanwhile, I don´t have anything to eat today. So I´ll check what to do with odds and ends I always find.

no falling for the frozen chicken. I would not want to imagine what will happen to a feet if that happens

A whole chicken takes forever to thaw. I always place in the refrigerator the day before, it's not safe to let it thaw outside the refrigerator.

At this time of the year, I can take it out at night and make it next morning. We have cold mornings even in summer, but in summer I do as you do.
