Where’s my ark? Rain rain rain. Oh well, good napping weather. Instead of the weather, let’s have some good music. Here’s another favorite from the list of songs with “baby” in the title...and another one you may know, just not this version.
#3: Baby Mine - Bonnie Raitt and Was (Not Was)
This song, in its original form, begs the question: WHY do we love Disney so much? If you remember this song from Dumbo, it’s one of the most gut-wrenching things you’ll see in a kids’ cartoon.
Well, except for Bambi’s mom and Simba’s dad, and Old Yeller in that movie, and.....
Yeah, ol’ Walt was a sadist. By his own admission, he liked people crying in his movies. I’m surprised he never gave us Mickey and Minnie caught in rat traps.
Never mind. This version, featuring the gorgeous vocals of Bonnie Raitt and the Was (Not Was) singers Sir Harry Bowen’s and the late Sweet Pea Atkinson, makes you forget all that misery ol’ Walt drew in his cartoon. It’s beautiful in every note.
Baby Mine
Written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington
Recorded by Bonnie Raitt and Was (Not Was)

Ya sure?

Only two more nopes to go, then I can start on another series of songs you’ve never heard.
