Baby Songs Top Ten: Here Comes My Baby (#1)

And that is the trick! You see, the #1 song on my list of favorites with “baby” in the title has the same title as another big hit. And, given that you’re more likely to know the “big hit” than this one, I thought I’d throw it in! Except for those of you who don’t like country music, enjoy my favorite “baby” song.
#1: Here Comes My Baby - Dottie West
Yeah, you may not enjoy this, but this song is historic: the first woman to win a country Grammy was Dottie West, and she won it in 1964 with this song.
I’m so sorry it took Dottie West so long to get into the Hall of Fame (inducted in 2018, 27 years after her death from injuries sustained in a car wreck), but at least her trailblazing tenure as one of country music’s great female singer/songwriters is honored, to inspire future generations.
One of my favorite songs, period.
