October 31 - What I'm Thankful for Today

Today was a decent day. Not one of my best, but it was still good. I planned to spend more time here and work on Vendetta. Neither happened. My back was in more pain than it's been in in a while, so I spent a lot of time on my recliner watching TV and putting both the heating pad and the massage pad on my back. Right now it's feeling decent. I'll be very happy to get the surgery done on my left knee on Monday so my legs are even and my back can get realigned.
I still have something to be thankful for today.
I'm thankful for a good night's sleep. I think I got as much as I did the night before which is good.
I'm thankful for food, shelter, and heat.
I'm thankful for completing the notifications twice and I'll get them done again before going to bed.
I'm thankful for a brand new day to make a difference.
I'm thankful for the phone call to a friend. We talked for a long time and she told me she finally got the refund she was seeking from a publishing company who put her through a lot of grief over her proposed book. I'll be working with her when I get out of therapy or before to help her publish her book.
I'm thankful I caught the mail lady when she was here to let her know to hold my mail while I'm in the hospital and rehab. She gave me her number to call her when I get home so she can bring me my mail.
I'm thankful I found a recliner on Amazon that's a power lift with many benefits to help the healing process. I'll purchase it after I get home or when I know I'll be home for its arrival.
I also achieved all my fitness goals today. I have over 11K steps for today.

bless yer heart 'n back. most miserable to be sufferin' with such. purty sure i've mine out'ta whack (back'n right shoulder) from loadin' jugs fer water. all that bendin', liftin', holdin' such't'n awkward angle 's such needed filled from the bathtub.
delighted yer friend finally got her funds back! mercy, that took fere'er'n a day, no? know she'll be most grateful fer yer 'ssistance 'n doin' a self-pub.
'tis diff'cult to work'n schtuff when ya aint feelin' 'p to par, so jest take care 'f yerself 'n the rest'll come when the time's correct.
sure hope that recliner 'tis all they 'dvertise. congrats'n meetin' yer fitness goals.
thankful fer the sunshine. to learn there'd be e'en more varieties 'f those lil dark-eyed juncos. 'twas able to capture a pic 'f such, though 'twas not very cooperative. did get a giggle ('fter the fact) when a grey tabby took a dive 'nto the icy waters 'f the pond. leaped to snag a lil bird off a low branch 'f the pine tree. dunno why such'd not tried to 'scape closer to where 't fell'n?? nope, swam all the way 'cross the pond'n scrambled out the other side. 'bout 12'. didn't see 't the rest 'f the day, so 'twas quite relieved such 'twas here'n the porch this morn. safe 'n dry. that water's gotta be 'bout 30 somethin' degrees.

You get a workout with those water jugs. It seems more so than your regular chores. I would love to have seen that cat make a dive in the pond. I'm sure it wasn't thrilled but gave you a good giggle. I'm giggling thinking about it. I'm glad it came on the porch this morning.
My back is much better today, and I'm very thankful it is.
The recliner has a 4.5-star rating on it. I just looked at it again and thought about getting a different one, but this is the one I like.

@crazyhorseladycx It gives the measurements and it's good. It's also electric, where my current one is manual and doesn't have a lever to pull the footrest down so I need to kick it closed. With my knees in their current condition that would be abusive to my knees. The electric recliner will be much better and it will lay back enough so a person could sleep in it. I'm hoping to have it here in time for my sister so she doesn't need to sleep on the floor like she did last time.
I would never hang up on you. However, my phone was on charger shortly after the game was over, so it wouldn't have been the best for talking on it. One of the good things about the new recliner is it has a USB port so I can recharge the phone and not worry about the inconvenience of its present location when charging.
I really hope you get your water situation fixed. The chances of you getting a winning lottery ticket aren't that great especially when you don't buy them.
I'll be leaving in an hour for the hospital. I'm looking forward to this surgery and getting my legs evened out again so I don't have any more back issues. I'll have my phone with me, so go ahead and call. I won't be doing much of anything anyway. I'll probably give you a call and let you know it went okay.

@just4him phew, so glad ya checked those, hon. those 'lectric 're nice, e'en more handy such's a usb port. seems to be quite the necessity these days. can ya get such prior to yer sis comin' though? i reckon ya could ordered't whilst'n rehab, cross fingers, eh?
oh, i dunno, 'twas 'one 'f those days' when e'en the pups'n ferals didn't wish me to speak. e'en confused myself. soy + me = inflammation 'nfortunately. whole body's been givin' me the what fer o'er the oops 'f consumin' such. 'tis 'lright though, gettin' better e'ery day.
ugh the water. hubs went 'n messed with 't 'gain last night, came right'n. {knockin' wood} 'tis still currently workin'. all my fussin' with that danged toilet yesterday such e'en 'tis now fillin'. thank heavens coz my back/shoulders 're none too happy with all that water haulin'. i reckon diff'rent muscles used than with movin' hay/grain?? kinda like when ya paint a ceilin'...'lways lil muscles'n yer shoulders'n neck that tend to scream.
nope, aint ne'er bought one 'f those lotto tickets, though've been tempted a time 'r two. 'luck' 's ne'er been one 'f my strong suits.
oh, i so hope ya do gimme a ring! i 'lways fear when yer'n the hospital 'n e'en rehab that i'll either be disturbin' yer slumber, doc/nurse/therapist visit 'r yer'n the loo, lol. i'm figurin' 'bout now ya should be'n recovery by now. if'n they got'cha back'n started 't the projected time anyhow. sure been thinkin' 'f ya!

I am thankful for much today. Got a letter from Social Security stating because Florida Medicaid has enrolled me and paying the 144 part of the Medicare I will now get my Social Security on the 3rd instead of the 4th Wednesday because of some law that it must be so and the 144 that was taken out a week ago to pay for medicaid will be refunded this week and since I got payment at the first of this week for the 4th Wednesday I also found they have already put the funds that were going to come on the 3rd (since due to Covid they have been paying early) already in my account.. I am getting a free fitbit from United Healthcare coming this week which I am also thankful for. God is good and I am thankful for the blessings he is sending my way.
