A week before Marcia threw away all my dry basil plants, I was bright enough to take some seeds and place them in a container.
I didn´t know what would happen with them, but I watered the plants and cared for them.
After sone time, a tiny couple of very green leaves came out. Then, another one came and yet another one. It was not weeds as they coud be. Still, with great care, I pinched one of the tiny leaves with my fingernail and then smelled it. A delicious aroma was in my finger: it was basil.
On the next days, other seedlings came out. I hope they don´t dry out when I transplant them.
I´m very happy.

Be careful with them especially in transplanting them.

Probably 2 or 3 weeks. Maybe a little more.

I make pesto and freeze it every year. But I also use fresh basil leaves for a lot of dishes.
