Hero parrot saves his owner from dying in a house fire

I have heard of dogs barking to alert their owners that they are in danger when their house is burning in the middle of the night.
However a parrot named Eric is being called a hero when around 2am in Brisbane when his owner Anton Nguyen was sound asleep, Eric shouted the name of his owner when the fire started outside of his home.
The smoke alarm inside the home did alert Anton that his house was on fire after Eric alerted his owner that they were in danger.
Anton realized that he and his pet had little time to leave the home before the fire would make it impossible for him to leave.
Thank goodness that both Anton and Eric were able to leave their home safe and sound thanks to Eric playing the role of hero.
Parrots are amazing animals due to their speaking ability.

I know what you mean since I had a parrot who is longer with me who enjoyed the song by Stevie Wonder called "Sir Duke" on the part of the song that had a whistling sound effect.

I know what you mean when I am asleep, I could use an animal to wake me up during my sleeping hours even though the home does have a smoke alarm.
