Do you turn off/silent your cellphone before you sleep?

I sleep with cellphone near me. I have no worries if I'll be receiving call during the wee hours of a day as it never happens except maybe for some emergency or wrong calls that rarely happened so I never turn it off or put it off to silent mode. For quite a time, I have this problem that if ever my sleep was disturbed, it would be very difficult for me then to return sleep. Too bad. Tonight, I startled by the the loud sound of notification from a shopping app in my phone short after I've got my sleep. I can feel the blood rushing in my system coupled with fast heartbeats. My nape is in pain. For sure it would take some time before I can go back to sleep.

I seem to know that shopping app. I get annoyed about it that I turned their notifications off. I always have my phone on silent mode even in the morning I just have it vibrate to be notified since l rarely go somewhere without it.

I do not keep my cellphone in the bedroom, I do not hear it if a call or a message come during the night.

No, it stays that way. Not like anyone would call me at night. Even if they do, I hardly pick up the call. If I sleep, then it can just ring for all I care.

Yes, calls at night are unlikely but if there is, that means emergency call from family.

I do keep mine on, and right beside me on my bedside table. I want my family to be able to contact me and vice versa.

I keep my phone downstairs and only have a few people who can call after certain hours. However, we do have a landline phone, too.

I suppose no more calls late night and beyond Ms.D. How was that possible?

@ZedSmart I'm not sure, but know one calls after 9PM unless it's an emergency.

I don't put my phone on silent mode because of the same reason that you have mentioned but i turnoff my internet so that notifications won't disturb my sleep.
