The Valencian dish, similar to a paella but made with thin pasta (angel´s hair) was a real treat.
It had mainly seafood, but it also had some veggies and a thinly cut bratwurst (I would not have used that).
I have discovered that his last decade I have maybe eaten the same amount of new food as I had in all the rest of my life. I call that a positive globalization.
Have you tried new food lately?

I have never encountered fideua and I have only eaten real paella once or twice (it was delicious because it was made properly in a paella pan by a Spaniard who had brought the genuine spices from Spain). Fidueha sounds a logical idea, in that fine or small pasta is often substituted for rice - orzo is really only 'fake rice (or barley)', after all.
Like you, I think that I've tried more new things in the last 10 years than in all the rest of my life, and I have never been an unadventurous cook!

@marguicha I'd dearly love to make a paella myself. I have a suitable flat pan and a gas ring and paella rice is easy to find here. I'd prefer chicken (or rabbit) rather than too much seafood but some shrimp/prawn mixed in (no squid, please, we're British!). The problem is finding the truly authentic spices. I already know not to stir it at all once the liquid is added, so that it gets a nice brown crust at the bottom! The other problem is that there are only two of us and it's not really worth making unless you're serving 6 or more!

I have eaten several good paellas in my life. The best have been made by people I know with Spanish roots. The paella they make is not as gresy and they use better ingredientes. This is a nice dish but not as expensive.

@marguicha I would love to cook it if people in my house want to try it, but sadly I am the only one who like to try new food.

I never heard of Fideua, but I have had paella which is quite good. Hmm, I guess the chocolate Lucky Charms were the only new food I have had recently, that and the 60 calorie donuts.

I've never heard of this dish. But if you say it's like paella, I love it!

@marguicha - No matter. If it has the saffron spice or something similar, I'm all in.

Looks like I will like that because I love paella. I haven't tried any new food lately, because our dining out was cut by the pandemic.

The basic difference is that it has pasta instead of rice.
