First time really exploring the east coast for me. I’ll post a little bit more about where I stopped, later, but in essence: Virginia Beach, VA - Outer Banks, NC, Manteo (Roanoke Island), NC, Myrtle Beach, SC, Murrells Inlet, SC, and finally Charleston, SC.
The driving wore me out a little bit but we didn’t have much time for planning so it was kind of an “on the spot” planning situation. I did get to do almost everything I wanted to do, like visit a few museums, eat lots of fried food (fried green tomatoes were on point!), had to attend 2 work meetings while I was away, do a fan boat/swamp tour in SC. Explore on foot at Charleston.
One thing I did not get to do was a spooky ghost tour like I had wanted to in Charleston, SC because it rained and all walking tours were canceled.
I probably won’t be traveling any time soon (maybe in the spring)? Just because of how busy I am with both jobs, and also, going on these city trips cost a LOT more than my usual hiking trips where I usually spend a lot less money.
Out of the four places we stopped- I enjoyed Charleston probably the most. It was near impossible to find vegetarian food, but it has the most culture and (dark) history I would have liked to learn more about if we had the time.
Now I am back to reality-back to work, and in need of both a budget and a diet.
Have you gone anywhere lately? Hope all is well.

You were in three of my favorite places to visit, Murrells Inlet and Charleston South Carolina and the Outer Banks North Carolina. I have wanted to do the ghosts tours when there as well but they have been always busy, or raining. One of these days we'll go back and try again. Glad you got to visit

I’m planning on hitting South Carolina as soon as the medical things (my sis-in-law’s having surgeries this week on her back) settle down. I may wait until there’s a weather discrepancy (cold here, warm there). Lovely state.
And aren’t fried green tomatoes the BEST!!!!!!!???!!!!

I loved Charleston. My husband and I stayed in a run down motel that was right in historic downtown. I refuse to drive in big unknown to me cities so we walked or took cabs. Just loved that city.
