Are movie theaters open in your area?

Ever since the pandemic started, all movie theaters here in our country closed. Up to now, they are still closed. Though I don't frequently watch movies in the theaters anymore, there some movies that are more enjoyable on the big screen than on TV. Have the movie theaters reopened in your area? If they did, would you go?

The theaters and cinemas were opened, but from yesterday they can only host 5 people... they are all going to close.

@jrlcentral How can a place live with only 5 clients? Better to close.

@jrlcentral No. I do not go to the movie that often. My MIL used to go to the cinemas thrice a week (senior and free)

Yes, movie theaters are already opened in our homeplace but I haven't watch movie as of yet because I can't go home frequently due to strict rules being implemented in the border. I am also concerned on our safety.

Really? here, even the malls are operating at half capacity. And people here don't go out much... probably the reason why the number of positives is quite low.

@jrlcentral SM cinema reopened last October. But I don't go to movie houses. It's better to be safe.

Everything is already open here, of course, with health protocols, but it still looks quiet and before the pandemic I hadn't been to the cinema for a long time.

As far as I know, yes. I haven't been to a movie theater in a while. I don't see the point. The movie I want to watch, (if I do) is the same price if not cheaper then taking the time and energy to attend a movie.

If they imposed proper distancing then I think it's no different from dining at restaurant and going to the bank where you will stay there with people for a particular time.

Yeah. That's possible. The question there is, would the theaters earn enough to cover the operating expenses?

@ZedSmart yeah... that's the best we can do during this time...

@jrlcentral I think it's not worth especially if only few are going to watch. Not all would risk just for the sake of entertainment. For the meantime, let's make use the small screen we have at home or the mobile phone.
