"Has something ever DISAPPOINTED you?"

As of this day, I am having a flashback when cutting the tie with my relatives on my father's side before the pandemic. In fact, it is impractical to reminisce past events with them. It is not a serious personal problem, so I just kept on brushing off. I do not want to find favor with my immediate family when talking about them. For this reason, we do not need to make as much attention to them anymore. Are you close to your relatives or family members? Image Credit: foundchristcounsel.files.wordpress.com

I'm very close to my immediate family. I'm sure you have your reasons.

There is a very, very small percentage of biological family members and relatives that I can even relate to let alone be close with. I am close with members of my spiritual family from my local Congregation than blood relatives.

@Shavkat My faith is the most important thing in my life. Other than my parents, I have no other family members who are in agreement with my beliefs. Though I care about my relatives, I can not be close to them at all.

I can understand what you are pointing to. In the past, I had joined different religions. Most of the members are so proper as compared to relatives that I have.

@betlynfrnds I am still lucky to have my relatives on my mother's side. With faith matters, I think we are the same with beliefs.

Today, I am disappointed that my state governor is shutting down gyms for a month to get COVID under control. Grr. I get it, but I Don't. Ugh. I don't get why exactly you don't like your relatives on your fathers side? Because they are stuck in the past, or what? But I do get that, I don't speak to any of my family members on my father's side, either. I don't care for them. Haha.

My parents both came from big families . . . they both cut ties with their many siblings. I grew up living through all that and understand the drama and the whole letting go thing. Although I see many of my cousins and extended relatives on Facebook, we don't really keep in contact with each other.

@Shavkat For us, it helps that many live far away from us - distance helps. In a weird way, being in a pandemic has also helped .

We cut the tie with the aunts and uncles, but we do not have any problems getting in touch with our cousins. There are some limitations that need to consider when talking with them.

I heard from many women that they are not close to their mothers-in-law. At some point, they call them 'monster-in-law.'

@Shavkat I don't call her monster in law. I think she is not that much bad. But I like this "Monster in law"

Originally, I am an introvert. But then, I tend to be ambivert if dealing with other people. It is most likely to happen to job-related things.

I guess I am having an okay relationship with the rest of my family members. I have no issue with them, nor that we're super tight either. But if they need help, I won't hesitate to do so.

That's a great thing to do. I think we cannot deny that family is always there for us. I am so glad that my immediate family loves each other and no problem with them.

The disappointment with your immediate family members actions or reactions, is too much. Can't help it.

On my father's side, there are so many dramas. My family and I cannot deal with these things. It is better not to be in contact or continue the familial relationship with them.
